21 – And that’s when I noticed I’m not drunk anymore.

Flashback to Chapter 6 and 7 but it’s on Presbi’s POV.

 

“Pare. Tama na. Pinapatay mo ba sarili mo?” I heard someone say behind me. Si Mix yata… or Drei. I don’t know.

Actually, it’s a miracle na naiintindihan ko pa yung mga sinasabi ng mga tao sa paligid ko. It’s been what? Two hours? Four? I’m not sure. I’m out of it.

“Ano? Hindi pa din ba tumitigil?” I heard Drei, that’s him. I’m sure… or not.

Then nakaramdam ako ng dalawang kamay sa mga balikat ko. “Ah… Ano bang gagawin ko sayo, Pres. You’re one big of a wreck…” Then he continues to nag at me like some grandma.

After what happened to us, Corr and I, I mean… Hindi lang girlfriend ang nawala sakin. Pati best friend ko. I lost Steve the same time I lost the girl I love the most. So kung iniisip niyo man na si Corr lang ang nagdusa samin. You’re wrong. Nahirapan din ako… At kung iisipin, mas nahirapan ako between the two of us…

They have each other – the twins, while I only have the two of them.

“C’mon man, you’re better than this…” Panay padin sa sermon si Drei.

Maraming nangyari pagtungtong namin ng college… Nandon yung umalis sila Migs at Lee. Si Migs na pumunta ng states, habang ang kpop naman na si Lee ay bumalik ng SK. Si Dro naman nandyan lang sa Davao. Nagkita kami once nung pumunta siya sa Cebu at umuwi ako doon for a family gathering. But after that, wala na at nagpaka WAF na sya. May kinahuhumalingan yatang babae… or lalaki. Ewan.

So ang natira na lang ay si Drei, Ako at si Steve. Syempre, dahil same school kami ni Drei, siya yung madalas na kasama ko simula college. Nag-Ateneo kasi si Steve bago siya nagtransfer ng La Salle… and there you know the rest. Nagkagulo, nakick out ako at lahat lahat.

Pero ewan ko ba kung bakit nung nakickout ako at lumipat sa Benilde ay lumipat na din ‘tong si Drei at hindi pa nakontento si gago at nag Export Management din.

Ang clingy di ba.

“Tama na, dude. Gusto mo bang tawagan ko pa ang step-mom mo.” Pagbabanta niya.

 “Shut up. Just shut up, Drei. Stop nagging me like a girl. Go away.” I slurred as I gulped my eighth double shot of black.

Seriously though… why am I still alive?

I should’ve passed out an hour ago. Pero eto pa rin ako at buhay.

We we’re having fun that night… Too much fun, actually. We left Hyve after my eleventh double shot just to transfer to Raven. Ni hindi ko nga namalayan na lumipat na kami sa Raven that time.

“Dude. Where are my keys?” Sigaw ko kay Drei over the music. Ramdam kong may tama na ako pero parang nagdie down ito sa panic na nawawala ang keys ko.

What the fuck, I just got that car!

Nahihilo na ako sa mga ilaw at sa lakas ng tugtog pero sinubukan ko parin magfocus para tignan ang reaksyon ni Drei, pero walang sagot si gago at nagkibit balikat lang.
