"You can't sulk for the whole day. You have to go to the ball tonight", John grumbled as he peered over at Sherlock.

Sherlock just sunk lower into his seat.

"Watch me. And I am not going to that stupid ball tonight", his voice a little muffled by his arm.

John just rolled his eyes. The prince was such a child. But he would be lying if he said that it wasn't entertaining.

"Well you gotta", John teased.

"But WHYYYYYYYY", Sherlock yelled out the last part.

John scrunched his face.

"Because the queen said so", John pointed out.

Sherlock just grumbled and sunk somehow even lower into his chair.

John knew it was going to be a long night.

"I can't believe I am even here", Sherlock whined for the tenth time that night.

John just hummed, not even paying attention.

Someone had caught his eye.

Two men chattering at the far wall almost covered in shadows.

Not one of them had moved the spot, and ever so often they would smile at each other.

"John, John, John, John, John, John, J-", "What is it?", John hissed.

"You see them, don't you?", Sherlock questioned.

"See who?".

"The men at the far wall over there, don't be stupid John".

John stared at Sherlock in surprise.

He didn't know Sherlock noticed the strange people as well.

"Who do you think they are?", Sherlock asked. A certain gleam was in his eye. As if he was interested in what John was going to say.

John cleared his throat.

"Someone that isn't usually invited to these events".

"What makes you think that?".

"I don't know, I just get a feeling", John responded.

Sherlock stared down at John, a small smirk on his face.

He's gonna show off.

And he did do that.

He stared spouting again. About there shoes, clothes, hell even the way there hair was. But John noticed something in Sherlock's eye.

A gleam of recognition. But why?

And before anyone knew what was happening, the candles flickered off.
