If you ask me, I remember it all,
the sad boys running across the lone streets into city lights
and silver tragedies aligning and distorting the stars under their feet
while the trains rumbled over broken tracks in the night air
only to roll down the edge of insomnia and asteroids
so why don't you ask me
about the sad boys
and what happened to them?

I recall their laughs echoing in the humid air under the bridges
spanning the periphery of lingering melancholy
while fate spooled the tapes of their disarrayed lives
back into the grunge cassettes with a pencil eraser
so why don't you ask me
about the sad boys
and what happened to them?

Oh why don't you ask?
Is it because I read it on the first page
of today's pale, morning newspaper
that silver tragedies
and insomnia and lingering melancholy and fate
are out in the search of sad boys
running across the lone streets into city lights
with laughs echoing in the humid air under the bridges?

Oh silly girl with sunken eyes, wild hair
and a face lost in the rings of cigarette smoke,
broken memories and walls dampened with vanilla dust,
is it because the details in the frail pages of the newspaper
describing all the disasters on the outlook of sad boys
somehow look just like you?

Author's Note

Listening to 'Own It' by Drake. I swear Drake's just out of this world. *-*

I don't know what to say about this poem. I guess it speaks for itself? Never tried so much metaphors because I was afraid that my readers would get confused but now that it's the end..it won't hurt to write without restrictions, I guess? :')

All I know is that this poem is one of my favourites. ❤

I got inspired by a video of Jimin and Jungkook dancing to 'Own It' by Drake under four lonely lights amidst the darkness of a shady room (added the video above, ignore the bloopers at the end if they seem funny and kill the vibe for you). It was exotic and idk, it gave me really sad vibes. Maybe because of the song? I don't know. It's just that when I was writing this poem, I was thinking of BTS. All seven boys. All happy on the outside while hiding personas inside them we'd never know about. Sad boys. </3

4 more poems to go. I should have hold this double update but I don't like holding back when it comes to 'Nostalgia' so here we are, driving faster into the territories of endings. :')

Much love,
Hazel *-*
