Rolling wave

Some days when I sit by the fire
I recall the death dance of my life
How we used to walk on a thread
The way you always raised a strife

I knew you were a burning soul
Heat and passion ruled your heart
While I was the calm ocean wave
So I burnt my hands and fell apart

I think of all the dreams I weaved
Infinite fantasies that I interlaced
But you set the fire to my memories
Still it was you who ran, I chased

I ask myself as the sparks go dull
Will your passion ever find rest?
And if it does then will that day
You'll look for me in your nest?

Because if you search for me at last
And your fire turns to ashes then
Just know that I'm the rolling wave
That kisses the shore again 'n again
