Haunting Memories

It's been so long and I'm tired
Of walking on the silent ways
Because they hold no destiny
Oh they all end up in a maze

Holdin' my finger, oh so hard
My memories have guided me
Through the miles so long that
Even the paths can't ever see

I fell so in love with my past
And it has hurt me, oh so bad
I never knew mere nostalgia
Could make you go this mad!

Entangled between this web
Of my so nostalgic emotions
I feel that I'm helplessly bound
Being drunk on fatal potions

Putting up this smile always
I pretended to be ever strong
But I forgot they won't ask me
That where it went so wrong

My breath comes out shallow
While I try to avoid this pain
My life looks perfect to them
But I am wreckage of a train

I wish for someone to detect
Extent of my cruel emptiness
To know that I am not so right
Because I'm just a living mess

Chasing those gone memories
I forgot that they will so haunt
And suck at all my happiness
I wish they leave, they won't

Dying at the edges of insanity
I learnt that we should adore
Our memories to make us smile
But never to haunt our core
