Neon Streets

Sometimes I miss those neon streets
The shaking walls and banging beats

Late night shades and blinking boards
Those dark alleys and empty roads

A haunting silence and those laughs
All those boys with better halves

Burning cigarettes and rising smoke
The drunken souls that felt so broke

The chambers filled with fading lights
I miss those talks and aimless nights

The sky scrapers piercing the clouds
Our small bodies lost in our shouts

All the alley fights at godly hours
How those gangs called them wars

I guess I know, I lost 'me' somewhere
Between the high walls back in there

Among those crazy crowds of town
Their hollow laughs even when down

They painted madness on my heart
Heads high in pain, you know it's art..

Author's Note

This poem is very close to my heart as it has come right out of all my dark fantasies and though, I've never been to such places..the neon streets fascinate me more than anything!! :) I've been longing for more than six years to put this fantasy to words and I am soooo happy that I finally did it..and that too in rhyme! :')
