I lived at the bottom
of an overflowin'
blue ink bottle
that rests on your desk
and you used me
on occassions very rare
when you wanted to
pour your heart out
to that girl you loved
who lived across the
dreamy sixth lane
to drive you insane

so you used me
drop by drop
to scribble down
the essence of you
and your existence
on vintage paper
and i let you use me
oh i let you use me
despite of all that
i had to endure

my sweet darlin'
your love letters
adorned all over
with my blue blood
melted her heart
for they were art
with borrowed veins
all deoxygenated
as they were blue
and never red
oh was she in love
with the dead?

if not then why
why did she kill
the essence of you
and your existence
after she had you?
'n' why did she
left me wonderin'
had i been a little red
you wouldn't have been
so cold and dead!

for my dedication
doesn't matter at all
and it was of no use
the way i let you use me
oh i let you use me
drop by drop
to scribble hearts
for that thankless girl
while you drew blood
from my own heart
that is the bottom
of a not so overflowin'
blue ink bottle
that rests on your desk
all forgotten and alone
but still in love with
the essence of you
and your existence

Author's Note

Listening to 'Colors' by Halsey. ❤
This poem is a huge metaphor. The ink is actually a girl who's fallen in love with someone who loves this other girl living on the dreamy sixth lane, who destroys him. Umm, I think this is enough for you to understand the whole thing. And oh, the blue colour shows her 'sadness' while she tries to help him in his love story with this other girl and her desire for red was a desire for 'real passion' to help him but she just couldn't help being broken inside. Phew. Confusing? I'm so sorry. I'm sleepy. :x

How was the poem? =)

Much Love,
Hazel ❤
