How many stories have faded
In these corners of our hearts
Or gone away with the breeze
As fallen leaves, our lost parts

Some of 'em have rolled down
Our eyes as tiny crystal pearls
These silent, cursed creatures
Gettin' lost in fate's sad swirls

Some absorbed in soft pillows
Dried up by the next morning
Some always stuck in Autumn
And never making it to Spring

Often scribbled in cute diaries
An' hidden in quiet wardrobes
Or rolled down our wet bodies
To be soaked up by bathrobes

Oh written on crumpled paper
Eaten up by the corner dustbin
Or arriving with a lost traveler
To be forgotten at a closed inn

Often evaporating into thin air
From window panes after rain
Or mixed in that metallic taste
Of blood after bitin' lip in pain

Sneaking into forbidden kisses
Stolen in the darkness of night
And left trapped in love letters
Unopened, never again in sight

Choked by the codes of society
Oh strangled by cord of hatred
Or taken by Earth during wars
In soldiers' blood, crimson red

Some tappin' away at the door
In the middle of this afternoon
Or riding the wind at the night
Across soft clouds to the moon

Do you see them floating away
With high tide on the seawaves
Or, as ever, they're goin' to end
Echoing in the hollow graves..?

Author's Note

Stories do get lost like that. Yes. Stories that can reach us and change our lives for better end up dying in hearts of souls who are snubbed by the cruel codes of the society. The fear of getting hatred kills these stories before they're even born. So if you ever come across a story that could change someone's life for good but is failing to do so because it lacks a voice, give it a voice. Don't let it die. Help the people around you. We all need to make out of this together. Don't let anyone stay behind just because they didn't have a story to save them. Allow freedom of speech. Spread stories. ❤

I could have kept writing this poem and it could have been much longer because there is no limit to how stories die in our society but I'm so sleepy that I can barely keep my eyes open. Wrote this poem in a trance. Did you like it? P.S if you've noticed, it's very Hazel like because it's rhyming. Hehe. =)

Much love,
Hazel *-*
