My stomach was turned inside out. My palms were sweaty. I really wasn't ready for this.

"Why are you so nervous?" Harry asked.

"How can I not be?" I buried my face in my hands. "We're living in a lie." I said, pacing the floor. We had arrived to the hotel in L.A, and we were (or at least I was) anxiously awaiting for the other boys' arrival.

"You make it sound like we murdered someone." He said. He got up, and caught my arm. "Stop pacing, Rose. Please."

I sat down on the luxiourious white sofa. "I just don't want things to go wrong."

"Everything's going to be fine. The other boys are really nice, and you are, too. You'll get along just fine."

"I really hope so." I said.

After that plane ride, Harry and I had gotten alot more comfortable around each other. We had become friends, told each other about our lives, and even broke the touch barrier. I should feel somewhat ready. I sure did on the plane ride, but as soon as we stepped foot into the suite we were going to stay in, I lost my cool.

I took deep breaths and decided to lay down. But as soon as I straightened my back out on the surely memory foam mattress, Harry said, "They're here."

"Oh joy." I said, as I got up.

"They're on their way up."

"Harry, what do I do?!"

"Just be yourself."

I sighed. Soon enough there was a knock on the door. "Room service!!!" I heard a chirpy voice say. It was obviously a guy imitating a girl.

"Louis!" Harry said, opening the door to a familiar face. It was another member of One Direction. And in poured another 6 or 7 people. Even a baby. What is this?

After Louis greeted Harry with a bro hug, he walked over to me and took my hand. "And who's this lovely lady?"

"It's obviously his girlfriend." Said a woman who was carrying the baby. She was also the one who shrieked when Harry's clothes got dirty at the concert.

"Mates, this is Rose, and Rose, this is Louis, Liam, Zayn, Niall, Lou, and Lux."

"Hi." I managed to wave. They all seemed very friendly. Fabulous! It eased my nerves by a good 3%. I was still ready to jump out the window of the 17th floor suite.

"Well, that's a first, Harry. You've never dated an American girl." Louis joked and I saw Liam smack the back of his head after he did say it.

"Louis' just jealous that his best friend has found a new center of his world. We're glad to have you here."

"Of course. A little surprise doesn't hurt every now and then." Harry added in.

"Well, don't say that Harry, we don't need too many little surprises to keep us company." Louis said, pointing to Lux, the little baby in Lou's arms. It took me a while to process the apparent joke he had just made. I could tell it was a joke because Zayn and Niall were trying to hide their laughter while Harry looked like he was about to slam the door on all of them.

Then I got it.

Oh, wow, 60 seconds with the boys and they were already making baby jokes. I stood there, almost overwhelmed by the smell of awkwardness.

"I'm sorry." Louis began. "I'm not a total jerk. I just like to laugh alot."

"Louis, just stop." Harry said.

"Anyways, we've sort of had a long day, so we just wanted to say hello, and hopefully we can get to know you better tomorrow. and find out why Harry kept you a secret." Zayn said.

I smiled at him. He deserved a pat on the back for being the Lysol that cleared up the air in the room.

"Thank you so much." I said.

"No problem." He said, stepping out. They all gave me a friendly wave, before they left, and I gave a little wave to the baby, before she was carried out.

Harry closed the door, and listened to them go down the hall. After he heard nothing, he ran to me and hugged me.

"They bought it!" He whisper screamed.

"That's awesome! How do you know?"

"Louis wouldn't joke around like that if they didn't!"

I cheered. This was great. They bought it. I was one step closer to getting out of this whole mess.

That night, (er... morning, we went to bed at 2 am.) I slept on the bed while Harry slept on the sofa. He said he didn't mind. We had to sleep in the same room to make it seem like we really were an item.

That morning, we went down to breakfast. We had closed off the entire right side of the hotel restaurant to keep from people taking pictures. It seemed a bit ridiculous, but the it was the only way we could keep away from the fans. For example, this morning we woke up to a chanting of fans outside the balcony of the hotel. Insane, right?

"Pass the maple, will you?" Niall asked Harry, who was next to me, stirring his tea. I felt like the odd one out, the only person drinking coffee in this array of British natives.

"So, we have to ask you some questions of course." Louis said.

Boy, was he a character. He desrved to get a taste of his own medicine. Just because I didn't really talk to anyone at school, it didn't mean I didn't know how to turn on the charisma.

"Is that neccessary?" Harry asked.

"No, Harry, it's okay. They can ask all they want." I said, tapping my napkin against my lips. "Go ahead."

"I like your confidence." Louis said. "Alright. How old are you?"

"18." I said.

"Are you still in school?"

"Unfortunately still in high school, yes. But I plan on going to university."

"To study what?"

"Art." I said.

"You can draw?"

"I like to think so." I smiled.

"I've got one." Niall said. "How did you meet Harry?"

I froze. Harry and I never talked about this. We never agreed on a story. Oh no. Oh no. Harry. help me, PLEASE.

"Um, well, we met a while back actually." I glared over at Harry, who looked a bit panicked as well.

"We met at the afterparty for the VMA's remember?"

"We all got drunk that night." Zayn said. I laughed a bit.

"Maybe that's why you might not remember. Well, anyways, we met there, and we danced together, and I guess we just liked each other since then."

"But... how have you kept in touch?"

"Mostly texting. Sometimes we skype." I said.

"And what about in person?"

"I try to see her as much as I can whenever we come to the States. You know how I usually go shopping by myself?" Harry asked them. They nodded.

"Well, I go out to see her. I send her out to wherever we're at."

"But why would you keep her a secret?" Niall persisted. What was his problem?

"To show management they don't own me." Harry said, placing his fork down firmly. The sound it made against the table was a clear sign that subject was over.

Niall turned back to me and smiled. "It's nice you've found each other."

I smiled back, although I could feel tension in the air.

Niall looked like a nice person, but he was kind of upsetting me because he didn't seem to buy our story. I wouldn't blame him. It was weak. But the other guys did? Why couldn't he?
