CHAPTER FOURTEEN

I awoke to someone stroking the hair away from my face I opened my eyes and blinked sleepily it was Brax "Hey your dads here" I sat up rubbed my eyes and stretched then followed Brax out into the kitchen where my dad was waiting for me I sat across from him "Do you want me to stay?" Ask Brax as he handed me a glass of water I nodded my head he smiled and sat down next to me taking my hand in his he gave it a quick squeeze before turning to face my father "Whats up?" Asked my dad Mike

"I had a huge argument with Chris he basically kicked me out"I said

"What happened" he asked

"I told him I was pregnant" I held my breath waiting for his reaction I gripped Braxs hand tight I had no need to worry Mikes face lit up in a huge grin "Im gonna be a grandad"

I returned the grin "Yup"

"Congrats guys"

"Thanks" we both answered

That night my father stayed for tea and when it was time for him to leave I felt like I wanted to cry again I surprised him by wrapping my arms around his waist and hugging him tight "I'll see you again real soon ok" He said pulling away and then he was gone. Brax came over and wrapped his arms around my waist resting his chin on my shoulder I relaxed into his touch breathing in his scent "You ok?" He whispered into my ear

"Yeah" I sighed "I need to call my mum tell her where I am"

"You can use the study I'll be in my room when your done"

Once alone I shut the door grabbed the phone and dialed my home number praying Chris didnt answer I breathed a sigh of relief when her voice sounded in my ear we spoke for about half hour she told me its best I stay away for a bit to let Chris calm down she said its better for my safety that im not at home at the moment when I hung up the phone I stayed in the study thinking things over I must of drifted off to sleep as I woke slightly to Brax carrying me to his bed "Sleep" he whispered kissing me lightly on the lips and thats all I remember.

A week had past and I still hadnt gone hope to tell you the truth I had settled quite well into Braxs house I missed my family like crazy but I liked the fact that I could spend all this time with Braxton, the one down fall his sister Grace she still hadnt forgivin me for Braxton getting shot in a way I felt partly responsible if I wasnt with him that day he wouldnt of got shot damn my family for being hunters. When I voiced my concerns to Brax he told me not to think like that he didnt blame me for what happened that day, I had also told Max and Tahlia what was going on and I had thier full support. That morning I headed to school on my own I sat at our table by my self Tahlia and Scott were at home as she was due any day now, Max and Brooke were off doing thier own thing and Brax god knows where he was. I was sitting thier thinking when Krystal, Lisa and Darcey walked by "Oh look girls Aimee's all by her self looks like her friends abandoned her" laughed Krystal as she walked by "Shut ya face" I muttered

"What was that?" Said Krystal slamming her hands on the table claws extended

"You wouldnt dare not with humans around" I said standing up I didnt feel like being at school any more or dealing with her shit today I got up and walked away. I headed for the primary school which was right next door. I spotted Dexter playing with his friends "Hey Dexter man" I called out as he ran past

"Hey sis what you doing here?" He asked

"Come to see you and Brooklyn I miss you guys how is it at home?"

"Alright I guess" he shrugged "We all miss you Alex asks for you mum and dad dont talk much about what happened cause to many arguements"

"Oh..." I said "Ah wheres ya sister?"

"At home shes sick"he answered

"Thats suxs loom I gotta run Ill see you soon ok take care"

"Ok" said Dexter reaching for me through the fence I took ahold of his hand and gave it a quick squeeze then I backed away disappearing into the bushes.

I decided to go visit the rest of the family as I knew Chris would be at work well I was hoping he was. Once I got to my house I pulled out my keys and unlocked the door I found Brooklyn asleep on the lounge, my mum was asleep in her room the only one awake was Rhydah who was laying quietly in his cot I picked him up and gave him a cuddle breathing in his baby smell he gurgled happily in my arms and gave me a big gummy smile I gave him one last kiss before gently placing him back into his cot I thought I heard a car door shut I peeked out the window Shit! Chris was home early I quickly went down stairs and out the back door I said a quick hello to Sunny and Trixie who went mad with excitement at seeing me then I took off over the back fence. I didnt bother going back to school I just went to Braxs house when I got inside Brax was waiting for me and he didnt look happy "Where were you?" He demanded "I was worried" he added when he seen the look I gave him

"I went to see my family" I answered him as I headed for the stairs

"You have to tell me these things Aimee your pregnant anything could of happened to you"

"Look Im sorry I worried you but I need to go lay down I dont feel well". Brax scooped me up and carried me to his bedroom "Your burning up Aimee" he said as he placed me on the bed "Im gonna call the pack doctor"

"Ok" I mumbled sleepily he leaned down and kissed me softly on the cheek then left the room shutting the door quietly. I drifted in and out of sleep my body felt like it was on fire I remember seeing the pack doctor, then he and Brax talking then his mum came in putting a cold compress on my head before drifting off again. When I next woke up it was dark I tried to sit up but I felt so weak the door opened and Denille walked in "Your awake how are you?"

"Weak,hungry and thirsty" I croaked my mouth was so dry she burst out laughing "Here" she said handing me a glass of water with a straw in in "Small sips ok" I nodded as I took it from her "Ive mind linked the pack doctor, Brax and my mum" Denille left the room and I stumbled to the bathroom I badly needed to pee I was still so weak and felt really dizzy I managed to go to the toilet but collapsed before I could make it back to the bed I had no idea what day or time it was I tried to get up but just couldnt do it I just layed there on the bathroom floor till Brax found me and Carried me back to bed.
