"Heartstorm!" yelled Deerpaw. Heartstorm turned around. He had just been about to ask Reedpelt if he could lead a border patrol.

                 "Hey," he grinned. "What happened?"

"Moorpelt hinted I might become a warrior tomorrow!" she squealed. Heartstorm gasped then beamed.

"That's great!" he exclaimed and he meant it. He couldn't wait to have his best friend in the same den again. He couldn't wait for both Eelpaw and Deerpaw to become warriors and to go on patrols together.

"Yes?" said Reedpelt, trotted over. Heartstorm turned to him.

"Could I lead a patrol?" asked Heartstorm. Reedpelt nodded.

"We need one for this afternoon," informed Reedpelt.

"Great, thanks," said Heartstorm. "To ThunderClan border?"

                      "Yes," nodded Reedpelt.

"I wonder what my warrior name will be?" said Deerpaw once Reedpelt had given her a proud smile then padded away.

"Imagine Deerstorm," said Heartstorm. "And Eelpaw would be Eelstorm. Then we'd be Heartstorm, Eelstorm and Deerstorm." Deerpaw giggled.

"I think Deerdapple would be nice," said Deerpaw thoughtfully. "And for Eelpaw I was thinking Eelfrost. What do you think?"

"I wanna be Eelstar," came a voice. Heartstorm turned to see Eelpaw trotting to their side.

                       "Ha," said Deerpaw. "As if."

"Hey," said Eelpaw in a hurt face.

"Eelstar is cool," nodded Heartstorm. Just then, Moorpelt appeared.

                         "Deerpaw, we're going," he said.

                           "Bye guys!" cried Deerpaw.

                          "Bye Deerstorm," said Heartstorm.

                          "Bye," called Eelpaw.

                           "It's Deerdapple," called back Deerpaw.

"I need to find people for my patrol," said Heartstorm, looking around.

"Leading another patrol?" said Eelpaw. "Imagine you get attacked again?"

"We didn't get attacked, we attacked," corrected Heartstorm. "This time we'll be going to ThunderClan territory. They've been marking their territory a lot more. I only went yesterday and I could smell them before even seeing the river!"

"I hate ThunderClan," spat Eelpaw. Just then Wolfstep trotted to Heartstorm.

"Are you leading the afternoon patrol?" he asked.

                             "Yeah," nodded Heartstorm.

"Great," said Wolfstep. "Could Hawkpaw and I join? I think it'll be good for him to go on patrols. It'll be his first one." Heartstorm wanted to snap no but Wolfstep hadn't done anything wrong and how could he possibly turn down Hawkpaw.
