"What are you doing out here Davis?" I heard his voice get louder as he approached me. I didn't reply, as he took a seat beside me.

Five minutes, then ten minutes passed. It was reaching almost twenty minutes when he let out an agitated sigh and poked my arm. "Why do you like to do that?" He burst out, running his hand roughly through his messy brown hair. I smiled slightly at his frustrated look. He continued to ramble on incoherently as his hands flew across the air. I wasn't processing his words, I was just watching him. When he became increasingly frustrated he would tussle his hair.

"You're so frustrating you know. Why are you so annoying and yet so exciting to be around. I hate that I want to be around you and yet I want you to stay far, far away from me. Why do you do this to me? Why do you have to make my life so confusing?" He rambled.

"Drew, you're not making any sense. I have no idea what you are talking about." I grasped his hands to steady them. For the second time that day, he pulled me into an unsuspecting kiss. This time the shock didn't last long before I found myself kissing him back. My mind was silent, but my heart was beating a mile a minute. Drew's hands cupped my face as we kissed. I've had my fair share of kisses but none had ever made me feel like this.

"Woah." I breathed when we broke apart.

"I've been wanting..." He started to say something before he was interrupted by the bell.

"We should go," I mumbled.

"Yeah, you're right." He stood up, lending an outstretched hand to help me up.

I sat in my AP trigonometry class completely dazed, confused as to what had happened. My head was fighting an internal battle with itself when Taylor clicked her fingers in front of my face.

"Hello? Anyone home?" She asked, knocking on my head. I just looked at her, deadpanned and uninterested.

"Guess what I have?" She looked excited, as she waved two white envelopes in front of me.

"I don't know. Why don't you tell me?"

"No, you have to guess." She protested.

"Fine. Concert tickets?" I sighed

"No, better. These are the official invites to Jamie's start of senior year party!" Her eyes were wide with joy.

"When is it?" A party, just what I needed to get my mind off Drew. Jamie's parties were legendary, people from neighbouring schools would try to come. Some would succeed in getting an invite. If you were invited to his party, you were considered part of the upper echelon of high school.

"It's this Friday. You're coming right?"

"I don't know Tay," I replied, knowing that if I declined long enough before I accepted she'd feel like she had accomplished something.

"Please, it wasn't really a question. You're coming and that the end of that." She laughed.

"Fine." I pretended to give in to her demands.

"I love you!" She cried, throwing her arms around my neck.

"Why is Jamie hosting the party? He already graduated. Why does he want to hang around high school kids anymore?" I asked.
