Stranded

Treading high water
Waiting for the low tide
Floating in freezing cold water
And not a moment much later
Discovering I'm stranded.

No one to pull me out of the water
Nothing but drift wood to hold on to
These waters came out of nowhere and capsized my boat
And now I'm stranded.

Some call it marooned
Some call it ship wrecked
Some call it being f*cked
I don't care for all that because it is I stranded.

Waves continuously try to drown me
I pant heavily, gulping huge breaths
Anytime I come up for air just before another wave crashes over me
Pushing me deep into the water, only for me to come up again... stranded

Trying to swim has my arms aching
My boat is in pieces from all the battering
Yet somehow I'm still alive and intact
The grey skies are a clear indicator of all the problems
And I am still stranded
