Chapter 24: Not Good Enough

~Aron~

"We need to find her."
I sighed and Mason was right behind me.

Then I see her face pop up after seconds of just feeling her presence.
She stands there watching me as she smiled.

I then did what my instincts told me to do. I was surprised to see her.

But I just ran up and pulled her down into my arms by leaning in brushing my lips gently up against hers.

I rub my hands around her waist and couldn't help but think how she and I almost lost eachother, again. Because of me.

She almost died again, because of me.

I pull away as Cameron's words ran through my head. Let her go, she is better off without you...she only see's you as a monster in the eyes.

"Are you ok?" She asked me.

"Mason I'll take us back in a minute give us some privacy please."
He nods heading off.

"Look, I thought you were..."

"Dead?"
I nodded as she giggled.

"It's not funny V, not for me. You alomost died again because of me and if you did what then? Would me saving you mean nothing?"

"No Aron stop."

"Or what would this whole thing have been for? Me loving you and you loving me and him. Would it have even mattered? I guess nothing matters when you're dead."

She walks around me and stops turning to face me. "What is up with you?!"

"You can't keep saving people who don't want to be saved."
She then looks down at her hands and I watched her expression change immediately from being happy to serious.

"I get it. And you don't want me to save you."
She said it like it wasn't a question.

I hesitate. "No."

"Well I can't help it. I love you Aron."

"I'm not Seth."

"Since when did Seth become involved in this conversation!?"
She held her palm up to her head.

"That is not the point! The point it I can't be saved, I don't need saving! I don't want you to keep trying to save me so stop!"

I see her flinch as I raised my voice.
"You may think that but, your wrong."

"Just stop trying to change me into Seth! Just stop."

"I'm not!"

''Really? If you hated who I was so much then you probably shouldn't have began pretending to fall for me when you really had eyes for him. An when you see me, all you do see is what?"

She shakes her head as tears evolved. "I see the man I love."

"That's a lie."

"No it isn't!"
I then stare at her.

"I killed millions of families and people when I was in New York."
Venus stopped talking as if a button was pressed and I watched as she became silent.

"Cameron and I did it together. The worst part of it is, is that I enjoyed it."

She then speaks up. "That wasn't you."

"Isn't it?"
She then looked away.

"Because I am still that person you just don't want to admit it. I'm just not good enough for you!"

"I see what your doing Aron."

"I am not doing anything but stating facts! I make you make bad decisions!"

She then couldn't help but lose touch of words to say. "I have every right to feel like it's an enjoyable feeling. Because of what I am Venus. A monster."

She then shakes her head. "Your not. You haven't killed since we have been here."

"STOP! JUST STOP DEFENDING ME FOR ONCE! Say it's not my fault? Wow, killing people must not be anyone's fault if they do it then right!?"

She looked away as she shut her eyes for a moment. "You were different. Are different than other people Aron."

"I wanted to kill myself. I wanted to die, but then knew if I died I wouldn't ever be able to have a life with you."

She then holds her palm up to my cheek and I hold mine over hers.

"We'll fight this we always do."

"I never do. It always comes back no matter what, I can still feel the urge to kill, the evil me waiting to just pop out when it is ready. Then when the time comes-"
She cuts me off.

"It won't."

"Listen to me." I cup her face this time.

"When that time comes, you have to let me go. Forget I ever existed. Don't ever come looking for me and try not to be so sad try to live your life. If it comes down to me killing again, you have to kill me."

"I love you."

"I love you too." I then kiss her and the kiss deepens.

"I can't lose you though, I won't."
She said through her tears.

"Hey it's about to rain."
Said Mason cutting in.

I offered my arm out and he took it as I glance over at Venus who still held my hand.

"Ok let's go."
We left and didn't look back.

When we got back Venus hugs me. "I'll be back, checking on Charlotte." I smile as she skips off into the house and Mason comes up behind me running to Seth who is still avoiding my gaze.

"Hey welcome back."

"You too." I then nod at him as I walk away.

I walked into the house and saw Eli on the couch sitting next to Riley.
"Eli, can I speak to you for a moment?"

"Yeah sure." He said gently as he read the expression on my face not to piss me off.

I pull him aside and he whispers. "What's up?"

"You can mind compel right?"
He sighed crossing his arms.

"Why?"

"Just say yes or no. It's not that hard."
He stares at me for a moment and then answered.

"No."
I then grabbed his collar of his shirt and bring him close to me. I whisper angrily in his ear.

"Let me ask again, nicely. Can you compel?"

"Y-y-yes." He said struggling for air.

"Good." I dropped him as he stands back to his feet.
Riley staring at us weird.

"Smile or I'll kill you."

He did and she rolls her eyes going back to drinking her beer.
"Alright. I need a favor."

"What is it? Because your plans and ideas, or basically any of what you say suck."

"I could kill you still."
I said.

"Alright what?"

"It involves Venus."
He then shakes his head. "Now I'm interested."

"I want you to compel her to forget we ever dated."
