"Merry Christmas!" I yelled, running around the house with my bright red Christmas hat on.

Caleb and Aniya ran out into the living room jumping around with peppermint candy canes sticking to their hands.

"Merry Chwistmas, Titi!" Caleb yelled, jumping on the couch. The only time Caleb gets really excited is around Christmas time. Other than that, he's a quiet little kid.

"Merry Christmas, babies!" Tati yelled, picking both Caleb and Aniya up, kissing their cheeks. "Merry Christmas, Brittany."

"Merry Christmas, sis. I made us a Christmas breakfast!"

"Good! I'm starving. Let's go wake up Uncle Jay and Grandpa."

"Uncle Jay, Uncle Jay!" Aniya yelled, jumping on his bed. "Merry Chwistmas!"

"Merry Christmas, Aniya. Merry Christmas Tati and Britt."

I smiled. "Merry Christmas, Jay."

"Hey, don't forget about your old man now!" My dad said, running in the small room with us. "Merry Christmas!"

"Merry Christmas, pops!" I squealed, jumping on his back.

"Girl, are you trying to kill me!? Try after we eat that amazing breakfast of yours!"

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot! Everyone to the table now! I made breakfast!"

"Ooh shit, move out the way, Tati. A nigga hungry." Jay exclaimed, running his fat ass to the kitchen.

Dad chuckled. "I'm right after him."

I checked my phone and saw that I had several text messages from my close friends.

'Merry Christmas boo! Imy' -Ivory

'Feliz Navidad, mi amor. Te amo.' -Jacob

I chuckled. My friends are a trip! I responded to them then sat my phone down. It's family time right now.

"Who are you texting, Jake!? Come help me with these damn candy canes!" My little sister, Esmerelda, yelled.

"Calm down, Em. I was just texting a close friend Merry Christmas."

"Ahh, your lil' novia, huh?"

"No, she's not my girlfriend."

"Well it damn right sounds like it! You haven't stopped talking about her since you got here. Her vagina must be laced in gold or something."

I rolled my eyes. "She's just a friend, okay?"

"Whose just a friend?" My mother asked, wiping some tortilla dough off of her hands.

"Nothing, mami."

"No, it's something, ma! Jake has a little girlfriend!"

She kissed her teeth. "Bull shit, tonto."
