Better Now: Dean X Reader

Prologue

You sit alone in your once shared room. Tears roll down your face as you look at the empty bed beside you. You missed your sister so much.

You guys were closer than most, because when you were 10, and she was 6 your parents left for work and never returned. No one but you thought it was weird. Yes, it is possible for people to get in a car crash or die from a heart attack, but BOTH your parents completely DISAPPEARED not just died, like vanished.

You would always tell your foster parents that a monster took them, and you were dead serious about it. That's what got you passed around from home to home. That went on for about a year until a man in his 40's came by and said he would be adopting you no matter how long it took him.

That's the story of how you(11) And your sister(7) Got adopted by Bobby Singer. He believed your story and idea of your parents getting taken by monsters, and what was even better was he told you he would find out what monster did it. Sure you didn't have a mom, but Bobby was the coolest dad ever, he hunted monsters for a living! You went to his home in South Dakota where you shared a room with your little sister.

To your surprise, two boys were there as well, but they wouldn't be staying. They told you "Our dad is on a hunting trip, and he won't be home for a few days... So we're staying with our Uncle Bobby until he's back" You couldn't help but notice the way the green-eyed boy face saddened at the comment his younger brother made. "I'm y/n, and this Is Chloe my younger sister.. what are your names?" You said with a friendly tone.

"I'm Samuel but you can call me Sam" The younger boy outstretched his hand eagerly "And this is Dean" He said pointing to the older boy behind him.

After meeting you guys played together day after day, until their father John, came to pick them up.

You were playing in the field out back when John called out "Sam! Dean! Get over here we have to get going." You didn't like the way this man talked to his kids but he is their father so you shrugged it off.Sam ran over to Chloe and hugged her. You couldn't help but awe at them, you heard footsteps from behind you and turned to see Dean.

"So I guess this is goodbye" You say looking at the ground.

"Yeah" He replies. "We'll be back real soon, I promise. Sam and I really had fun this past week y/n"

You couldn't help the blush that crept up your cheeks as he said those words. You looked up and didn't expect what happened next... He hugged you, and because you weren't rude you hugged back.

~14 years later~

Your life went on like that Sam and Dean coming and going, but once they turned 20 and left their father. You barely heard from them. Bobby had toughened you and your sister up, and taught you well, but was still an amazing father.

You were good hunters in no time. You and Chloe started hunting on your own when she turned eighteen( 3 years ago) And you both were skilled and never got hurt during them. Until this last one, you both felt brave enough to try a vampire case on your own. With Bobby's approval of course. But it turns out both of you weren't ready.

You managed to kill all but one. The one left, ran to Chloe fangs bared, and you watched in horror as your little sister fell to the ground, and was turned into one of them. You wanted to go up to her and cradle her body telling her everything would be alright.

But you couldn't.
1)There was the vampire to kill and
2) She was turned and could turn you. You ran feeling faster and stronger than you ever have before at the monster and plunged the knife into his heart.

"That is for my sister you dick" The last word came out like venom. After making sure he was dead you called Bobby standing over your sisters unconscious body. As soon as he picked up you choked back a sob and told him everything that had happened.

"Y/n, honey I'm so sorry" You heard him cry a little " There's no known cure for being turned yet, you're going.." He paused.

"To have to kill her" You finished his sentence. Before hanging up you told him your whereabouts and to come get you, you heard his car engine rev and the line went silent.

"Chloe I love you so much, you're my baby sister and I don't know how we got into this mess." You laughed. " I know what you're probably thinking, 'just kill me already I am going to hurt you' But I can't do that, I have to remind you how much you mean to me before you go." You cried and promised her you would not hunt after this because she wouldn't want you to put yourself in danger.

"Please say hi to mom and dad for me if they're in heaven" And you reached for the knife. She opened her eyes right as you plunged the knife into her heart. "I'm sorry!" You half yelled half sobbed to no one.

"Y/n, are you here sweetheart?" You hear Bobby. He walked into the room and saw all the dead vampires, and you in the middle, thrown over your sister sobbing hysterically. He let you have your time, he came back in an hour later to find you sleeping next to her. He picked you up and took you to his car, and grabbed Chloe's body to cremate her tomorrow.

You didn't want Bobby to know you're awake, but when you opened your eyes he was bent over the steering wheel sobbing
"Why in the name of god did you have to take one of my girls, why couldn't you have taken me" And with that, you closed your eyes wishing it was all a dream and fell asleep letting the tears fall down your face.
