After I left my mothers house, I had no idea where I was headed. All I knew was that I had to get rid of this car and find a place to lay my head. I figured I could at least keep the car for a couple of days until I found another one. I drove until I found a shabby little motel located right off of eight mile. I pulled in, got myself registered at the front desk, and found my room. The first thing I did was got into the shower. It had been such long day. For a minute, it felt like the hot water would wash my problems away. Once I got out, I decided to get dressed and go get something to drink. I needed something strong. I stepped out of my room and bumped into a young lady who seemed to be in a rush.

"Oops. I'm sorry" I said.

"No, your fine. That was totally my fault. I was in a rush trying to get to this damn liquor store before it closes."

"Hey I was just headed there. I can give you a ride if you like." I offered.

"No...I should be fine. I don't want my nigga tripping. He would swear up and down that I got into the car with a dude."

"Okay. How about I walk with you then?"

"Well hurry yo ass up!" she said laughing and we both took off speed walking. "Where you from? I never seen you around here before."

"I used to live here a long time ago. I moved to Inkster. Just got back in town today."

"Oh okay. I hate it here, girl. The minute I save enough money I am out of here, and I promise I am never coming back. This place has nothing to offer but heartache and pain."

"Yeah. You're right. I have bigger plans as well. This was only my first stop. I came back to visit my mother, but unfortunately she has completely fallen off the wagon this time. I had so much faith that by now she would have gotten herself together. Nope, she still got that no good ass nigga feeding her every damn drug under the sun. Hey, by the way whats your name? My name is Love."

"Nice to meet you, Love. My name is Felisha. She extended her hand to me. We shook hands and laughed about it. Once inside the liquor store, I went straight to the vodka aisle and grabbed a 5th of Ciroc peach. It was one of my favorites, even though I didn't drink much.

"Oh look at you!" Felisha said, as she reached over me grabbing the same thing.

"You like the peach flavor too?" I asked. We both paid at the counter and made it back out to the street. This time it was close to two AM, but to me it felt like mid afternoon. I was wide awake, still going off my adrenaline. Once back at the hotel, we exchanged numbers. I went to my room and she went back to hers. I turned on the clock radio that was on the night stand to try and drown out the voices in my head. I was literally thinking way too much. Instead of pouring a glass, I decided tonight would be a straight out of the bottle type of night. I took two big gulps and within minutes I could feel the vodka working its magic. I took my shirt and jeans off and was now in my panties and bra dancing and singing to The Isley Brothers that played on the radio. My mother used to sing their songs to me all the time. I wondered if Felisha was still awake. I needed some company. This dancing by myself shit was getting old and I needed someone to talk to or something. I threw my jeans and shirt back on and headed down the hall. I knocked on the door I saw her go in.

A mans voice asked "Who is it?"

"Love." I replied. The door swung open and there stood this chocolate, tall, handsome man with his shirt off looking like a steak to me, at this point.

"Hi. How are you? Is Felisha here?"

"Come in." he said, and left the door open. I walked in. Felisha was sitting at the table. Her bottle damn near empty compared to mine.

"Hey girl. What's up?"

"Damien, this is the girl I was telling you I met on the way to the store tonight." Damien didn't say anything. He just sat on the edge of the bed with his glass of vodka watching something on TV. "Anyway, girl, he acting all shy and shit." she said laughing. "What brought you over here? I thought you were going to get drunk and pass out?"

"Nothing in particular. I was just bored out my damn mind and thought I would come over and kick it."

"What the hell you waiting on? Pour up, bitch." Felisha said, passing me the bottle. I think we took ten shots in less then 10 minutes. We were drunk as shit in the process. Damien started to open up a little bit making small talk with us as well. Felisha and I really hit it off.

"What do you do for a living?" Felisha asked me.

"Right now, nothing. I use to hustle until my boyfriend was killed."

"Oh. I am so sorry to hear that. I lost a brother to the streets as well. What are your plans now? You know if you need to make a little extra cash, Damien here runs a little side business you might be interested in."

"Oh, really and what's this small business Mr. Damien?"

"It's just a little street work." he said looking like he had something up his sleeve.

"Sooooooo street work. What the hell is that? And what does it consist of?"

"Well, to be frank, Felisha turns tricks for me. Her, and a couple of other girls."

"Oh hell to tha naw. Ain't nobody got time to be selling no pussy. No offense Felisha, but nope, that shit ain't for me."

"You ain't offend me bitch. I make damn good money, and for the most part I don't do shit."

After about another hour of drinking and bullshitting, I decided to head back to my room and at least try to get some sleep. I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow. Today was one hell of a day.
