No One Can Replace

Often I think of you and your sweet loving face

And the good feelings you give me no girl could replace

You’ve been my best friend for such a long time

I can hardly believe that you once were mine

There was a time that I thought I had lost it all

But I gave up my pride and gave you a call

By some miracle you had kept some writing of mine

You gave life back its meaning at just the right time

I love being friends with you, you are funny and kind

There is just one woman like you with such a wonderful mind

I know life gave you some kicks that you didn’t deserve

But you kept love in your heart in a little reserve

You were there for me when my mom breathed her last

I hope I find strength for you when your mom has passed

A wise man once said that the death bell tolls for us

But let’s enjoy the spring time and find other things to discuss

There will be great joys ahead, these words are not meant to be dark

Plane trips an sunshine and walks in the park

Just call me up and unburden your sweet loving soul

Being your best friend is what makes me feel whole

There are things I do wish that were different now and then

Sometimes I wish we could be lovers again

But for some reason all that is a thing of the past

I still want to be there for you though, right until the last
