CHAPTER 35

Draco groaned as he woke up the following day, detention last night didn't help, he and Harry had to clean the school toilets without using magic. Draco walked the corridors alone, since he wasn't able to wake up early that he usually does, Theodore went off without him and went to the Great Hall to have breakfast, but as Draco walked the corridors alone, he can feel the glares of the other students give him, he should be used it since the start of the school term he's been getting that glares, but for some reason, he never liked it. It was probably that Theodore was always by his side that he was able to distract himself from noticing the stares, it was Theodore who always noticed the glares and found a way to get their mind out of it. Draco sighed and unconsciously reached for his left arm, where the Dark Mark is, where Draco would always feel the Dark Lord's presence, but after Voldemort's fall, he stopped feeling anything, the Mark just died, but was still on his arm, visible for all to see, and will forever be there to remind him that hew as a Death Eater, to let everyone know the person he used to be.

"Watch it!"

Draco was bumped – shoved at the shoulder. Draco glared at the person who shoved him, it was Seamus, and he wasn't alone, Dean stood beside Seamus.
Draco didn't say anything, he knew that he even spoke or fought back, he'll be having detention with Seamus – it was worst enough that he's having detention with Harry, but with Seamus, the person who he saw a rival now (for Jaime) was another story, Draco would rather have detention with Harry, his rival since first year, than with Seamus, his rival for a girl, for Jaime. Draco sighed and walked away, but stopped when Seamus spoke.

"Not gonna fight back, Malfoy?"

Draco turned to Seamus with a glare. Dean saw the tension with the two and tried to stop Seamus, "Come on Seamus, let's go." But Seamus ignored his friend.

"You're not so tough, are ya, Malfoy? Without Crabbe or Goyle, you're nothing."

"Seamus, that's enough." Dean took Seamus by his shoulder, but Seamus shrugged him off.

"What do you want, Finnigan?" Draco glared at Seamus.

"What I want? I want you to stay away from Jaime!"

"SEAMUS!" Dean tried to stop Seamus.

"Back off Dean!" Seamus's voice boomed in the corridor, catching the attention of all of the students around them.

"You're making a scene, Finnigan." Draco muttered.

"You know, you shouldn't even be here, you and Nott should be in Azkaban, rotting, for what you have done!"

Seamus struck a nerve, Draco got out his wand at Seamus and pointed it at Seamus.

"Whatever happens, you're still a Death Eater – you're still You-Know-Who's supporter, a murderer, and nothing's going to change that, Malfoy."

"If this is just because of Jaime – then you're pathetic." Draco muttered.

Seamus got out his wand and pointed it at Draco, "Incedio!"
But before his spell burned Draco, a wall of water was placed between Draco and Seamus. Everyone gasped at the sudden wall, when the wall of water killed flame, the wall fell on the ground, flooding the floor.

"Jaime." Dean muttered.

Jaime stood at the background, her wand pointed at the scene, she was angry. Jaime marched up to Draco's side, her feet splashing in the puddle.
Seamus felt the color in his face disappear when Jaime pointed her wand at him and was defending Draco.

"Don't you have anything better to do?" Jaime said.

"Jaime..." Seamus tried to explain.

"I don't care who or what he was," Jaime said, everyone knew who she was referring to, "And I don't care what people think about me whenever I'm with him... and it's none of your business! I know about everything." Seamus knew what she was talking about.

"How?" Seamus was embarrassed.

"Harry – he told me everything. Ginny and Hermoine told me as well... I can't believe you would stoop so low... it's just pathetic." Jaime then turned to Draco, she gave him an apologizing look, and she then turned back to Seamus, "If I ever see you try to make a scene like this again, you'll be waking up in the middle of the Black Lake." Jaime went to Draco's side; she took his hand and lead him away from the crowd.
They met with Theodore, who was standing by the stairs, and all three of them left to have breakfast elsewhere.

Jaime, Draco and Theodore sat on the floor of the Room of Requirement with the food that Theodore nicked from the Great Hall. Theodore watched as Jaime and Draco sat near each other, but was silent.

"I'm sorry about earlier." Jaime said to Draco.

"You shouldn't be apologizing, it's that git who should." Draco muttered.

Jaime gave Draco a small smile and took his hand and gave it a squeeze. Theodore felt like a third-wheel at the moment and wanted to leave the scene; Theodore got up and dusted his pants, "I'm heading to class – take your time, I'll just tell Kirkwood you two aren't feeling well at the moment."

"I don't think he'll believe that." Jaime chuckled.

"Worth a try!" Theodore left the Room of Requirement, the doors closed after he stepped foot out of the room. Jaime and Draco were left alone in the room, the silence made things a bit awkward with the two. Draco knew that this was the perfect time to tell Jaime about his kiss, but didn't know where to start.

"Can we talk about something?" Jaime asked.

Draco felt a lump in his throat, "Sure, what about?"

"I think you know..." Jaime didn't look at Draco's eyes, she was just staring at their hands and just played with his hand. Draco sighed, "About that... Jaime..." Draco intertwined his fingers with Jaime, "What do you feel, right now?"

Jaime smiled, "Happy. Every time I'm with you, I'm happy; every time I'm with you I feel this thing in my stomach, like butterflies?"

"Good butterflies?" Draco glanced at Jaime.

Jaime turned to Draco and smiled, "Good butterflies."

"Every time I'm with you, it's like I don't want it to end... when I found out that you fancied someone, I got really jealous..."

"How about now, are you jealous?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because, I know who you fancy, Draco."

"How sure are you?" Draco joked, Jaime chuckled then leaned forward and placed a kiss on Draco's cheek.

"I'm sure..."
