CHAPTER 31: POSEIDON

Griffin got off the tree branch and helped Needa up.
"Who are you?" Griffin asked. "You're not mortal, aren't you?"
"I am Cassie, daughter of Poseidon the god of the seas." she explained.
"God of the seas?" Needa asked. "Why are you here?"
Cassie crossed her arms.

"Well, Hades sent me here," she stammered. "Um- I don't know why so I want to be friends."
"Okay then?" Needa said. "Could've just said so."
"I did. You told me to get lost," replied Cassie.
Griffin laughed and Needa gave him a look.

"Sorry," said Needa. "I thought you were mortal."
Cassie stuck her tongue out in disgust.
"Well, can you fly?" Griffin asked.
Cassie shrugged and Needa laughed.
Needa flew back to the branches and Griffin followed her leaving Cassie in the ground.
"Well, Okay then-" said Cassie as she walked away.

Cassie went to the river and dipped her feet, blue scales slowly formed on her legs. Soon enough, her whole legs disappeared and turned into a blue mermaid tail and she dove in the water.

"Cassie?" said Poseidon as he heard her approaching.
"Poseidon." Cassie bowed.
"Have you done it?" asked Poseidon.
"I haven't yet. I have to find the right time, I'll do it soon."
Poseidon nodded.
"Make sure you gain their complete trust."
