Chapter Twenty-four: Meeting the Family

I called up Tamar and told her my plan. She agreed to help me and told me she'll get the family together as fast as she could so we could make this happen. She said something about having a brother-in-law she actually liked. She called me back today and told me to meet her at her house for lunch.

I ain't gon front I'm nervous as shit about meeting Toni's parents I mean I don't have the best track record but hey I'm trying.

"Hey Dre! Are you ready?" Tamar asked excitedly as she opened the door letting me in

When I walked in the house I saw producer Vincent Herbert walking out of the kitchen. I wasn't really that tight with him he's more like a friend of friend. But it was cool to see a familiar male face it helped me relax.

"This is my fiancé Vince." Tamar said introducing

"We already know each other." Vince said to Tamar "Wassup man how you feeling?" He asked dabbing me up

"Man I ain't know y'all was together I thought you liked blondes." I said lowly

"Yea that's my baby." He said looking at Tamar "And I use to like blondes but can you not bring that up in front of her? She gon start acting crazier than she usually do" he said making me laugh

"Hi daddy!" Tamar said opening the door

"Hey baby" this old man said walking into the foyer

"Hey pops!" Vince said as they hugged

"And you are?" He asked turning his attention towards me making me nervous

"Hello sir, I'm Andre I'm Toni's hu- boyfriend." I said quickly correcting myself before saying the wrong thing

"Oh you are?" He asked eyeing "Where is my first born anyways?"

"She's in London right now."

"So what do you do for a living? Are you in the industry too? Where you from? He asked giving me third degree

"Daddy don't you recognize him?" Tamar asked. "This Dr. Dre, remember he use to be with that rap group NWA" Tamar said making his eyes go big as he realized who I was

"Shit.." I thought to myself

"I saw you at one of them award shows Toni took me to a while back. I've seen you perform I like some of your music." He admitted surprisingly

"Thank you."

"So you from Compton huh?" He asked

"Hiiiii girls!" Tamar yelled from the doorway taking the attention off me thank God. "Mikey you made it!"

Traci starts "Yes we all made it Tay. Now you can you please tell us why we are—"

"Hello!" Someone yelled as the door slammed shut

"Ah hell.." Braxton said leaving the kitchen and going off to some part of the house

"Who is that?" I ask Vince

"It's their mom."
