Ch. 40

Love you.

Unti-unti kong iminulat ang aking mga mata. Ang unang bumungad sa akin ang maliwanag na ilaw at boses ng mga taong nagmamadali. One of them came into my view. Hindi ko siya makilala, naka mask ang kaniyang mukha at may sinasabi siya sa akin ngunit hindi ko maintindihan.

Naramdaman ko ang pagtusok sa aking braso. Ngunit masiyado akong nanghihina para damhin ang kirot nito.

Unti unting bumagsak ang aking mga mata. Pilit ko itong nilabanan ngunit wala akong napala. Wala na akong madinig pa. 

Wala na.

"stop it will you, Aaron? Let her rest!" narinig ko ang mahina ngunit madiin na boses ni Andrea. I tried to open my eyes again, but I can't. I tried to speak but my throat eventually gave up. I tried to move but I feel restrained. 

"Bakit di pa siya nagigising? It's been hours Andrea! She should be awake by now!" Naririnig ko ang pagkataranta ni Aaron. I wanted to tell him that I'm fine. But I can't.

"dude, stop it. Come on! Let's get you something to calm your nerves." 

"Leyn! No! I won't leave. I wanted to be here when she wakes up." Hindi na ulit ako nakarinig ng sagot mula kanino. I just heard the door closed at ang malakas na buntong hininga ng kung sino man sa aking tabi.

"do you have any idea who could it be?" mahinang tanong ni Andrea, I can sense that she is just standing right beside me.

Wala akong narinig na sagot at naramdaman ko ang unti-unting pagwala ng aking ulirat. I tried to hear more. I tried to wake up. But all of it was futile attempts. I am too tired to fight.

I gave up.

When voices came gushing from all sides I tried to open my eyes again and was glad that I finally made it. But what I saw made me want to sleep again... and never wake up.

"News Flash: The Most Eligible Bachelor of Asia, Andrei Montefuego is finally off the Market! The Heir of the Montefuego group announced his engagement to model and heiress of the Bromleigh Group, Carmela Bromleigh last night on the launching of their magazine's latest issue. The two were said to be childhood sweethearts and after years of intimate relationship finally ....."

Tears started to stream down my face. The man I love is about to marry the woman of his dreams. Hindi ko napigilan ang pagsinghot at ang pagkuyom ng aking mga kamay. Nakaramdam ako ng sakit ngunit wala na akong pakialam. This happened because of me.

I made this happen.

"Oh my God Zanna!" Agad na lumapit si Andrea at Paolin sa akin. They hugged me and asked things but I can't answer any of it. Napansin ko din ang agad na paglapit ni Aaron at ang pagtakbo nito para magtawag ng nurse. When he came back kasama na niya sina Dylan, Rid, Eli, Alen, Alkin, and even Azer is here.

Everyone is here. Except him.

The one who mattered the most.

"Call lolo! Tell him she's already awake." Utos ni Aaron kay Alen. Napatingin ako kay Alen at tipid itong ngumiti bago lumabas hawak hawak ang kaniyang telepono.

"Do you need anything Zanna?" Malambing na tanong ni Aaron. "May masakit ba sayo? tell me. please?"

Sinubukan kong lumunok at dahan dahang sinabi "t-tubig."

"i'll get it" sagot naman ni Alkin.

Maya't maya ay dumating ang nurse para icheck ako. Inabisuhan ang lahat ng lumabas muna ngunit nagpumilit sina Paolin, Andrea at Aaron na manatili sa loob.
