XXIII - FEW THINGS. PT 1.

I swear, I've never been more nervous than I was in that moment.

Romelo's face was stern, straight.

"W-We need to talk?" I repeated his words, my voice low. I sounded like I was on the verge of crying.

He nodded.

"Do you love me?" He asked.

"Of course I do, why would you have to ask me that?" I raised my voice, raising my eyebrows.

Romelo's expression didn't change.

That questioned irked me. Romelo shouldn't have to ask me that..Christ, I'm carrying his child!

That should say pretty much.

"Because, I might have a way for you to say under the radar, and way out of Lorenzo's reach."

I didn't understand what he was saying.

"What do you mean?"

Romelo looked down at his desk, and then back up at me. I couldn't determine what he was feeling, it was like he was a brick wall.

He sighed. "You understand that I want you to be safe, right?"

I nodded.

"And you also understand that I want our child to be safe, right?"

I nodded again.

I felt like he was beating around the bush.

Of course I knew that Romelo wanted me and our son safe, but what I didn't know was what he was trying to say.

"Romelo..what's wrong with you?" I asked.

He shook his head, "No..just..never mind."

I bit my lip, "You sure?"

He nodded, and I left the room.

Romelo seemed to be in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I tried to talk to him, but every time I would try to talk to him, he wouldn't answer, and he wouldn't even look at me.

I decided to just let him be.

But I couldn't help but wonder what he was trying to say earlier..

I was trying to rack my brain, coming up with insane things he might have needed to tell me. Maybe it was something about the baby? Maybe it was something about Lorenzo?

Rubbing my stomach, I sighed.

Romelo and I still hadn't decided on what we should name our baby.

I knew it would be hard, but I didn't think it would be this hard! I was thinking about going with something that started with an R, or sounded close to Romelo.

It had to be perfect. I wasn't going to accept anything less than that for my little boy.

Something like Raphael or..Rio..maybe even Ramiro.

Ramiro August..that's cute.

I bit my lip, tapping my pencil against my notepad. I had a list of names, starting from A, skipping a few alphabets in between. I even had a second page with girl names, just incase our baby boy pops out to be a baby girl, and I've been feeling like it might be a girl.

I honestly wouldn't mind having a girl. I know Romelo wants a girl so he could spoil her, and have a little Princess.

I sighed, groaning. Rubbing my stomach, I noticed that my baby bump was getting bigger. Soon enough, I'll be as big as a house..

I couldn't wait until I'd feel the baby kick.

"Miss Aaliyah, do you need anything?"

Placing my notepad down, I looked at Charles. I shook my head, "I'm fine!"

"You sure? For a pregnant woman, you sure do eat normally."

I giggled, and shrugged. "Maybe they'll kick in next month?"

I haven't those intense cravings like they said I would, but they also said that every woman was different..tomorrow was my first, actual ultrasound.

I was excited.

I was going to see what my baby looked like, inside of me, for the first time!

"To think, in six more months, you'll have a little Romelo." Charles chuckled.

I couldn't help but smile, "I really can't wait."

Charles and I talked a bit more, and then he left me alone, and I returned to my note pad.

"Hey."

Jumping, I turned around, seeing Romelo standing there. He looked tired, and I softly smiled at him.

"Hey baby..what's wrong?"

He walked around the side of the couch, and sat down next to me. Next thing I knew, his head was in my lap.

I kissed his temple, running my hand through his tight, short curls. He's been quiet all day, and I assume he finally came around because he missed me.

"Isn't your ultrasound tomorrow?" He asked.

"I'm nervous and excited all at once..plus we still have to choose a baby name.."

Romelo sighed, "Well, I think we should go to bed, we have to be up early tomorrow."

I watched the lady as she set up the ultrasound, and bit my lip as she placed the cold blue gel on my stomach. She took the wand, and rubbed it around on my stomach, while I watched the screen.

"Okay, there's his head..and his arms.."

I smiled, resting up on my elbows.

"He's so cute.."

I looked back at Romelo, and his face seemed to light up as he looked at our baby on the screen.

"He looks like you," I commented, earning a smile from Romelo.

"Yeah..he does..doesn't he?"

I could tell this was a special moment for him.

"He's got your nose, and lips.." I giggled.

"Would you like a picture?" The nurse asked.

I nodded.

Soon, after finishing everything, we were headed out to the car.

"Aaliyah, stop for a minute."

Stopping, I turned around to him. He looked down, and then up at me. I raised my eyebrows at him, and Romelo laced our fingers, biting his lip.

"Remember how last night, I asked if you knew how I wanted you and our son to be safe?"

I nodded, "What about it?"

"You also remember how I said that I had a way for you to stay under the radar and out of Lorenzo's reach?"

I nodded once more.

He clenched his jaw, and swallowed.

"I'm only going to ask you this two times..the first right now, the second to confirm your decision."

I looked around, noticing that we were the only two in the parking lot, besides all the other cars.

"For you and our son to be completely out of harm.."

I felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest.

"You're going to have to leave me."
