Marcus P.O.V.

"So when's your first game baby?" I sat on the edge of mama's bed, watching her get ready for work.

"Not for a few more weeks, so you got time to take off from work." She smiled, nodding her head. "Good, just let me know in advance so I can let your Aunt Trice know."

I sucked my teeth. "Why? You tryna invite the whole family to the game?" She chuckled. "It's your first game boy, you haven't played football since you were younger, you know she'll kill me if I don't invite her."

I sighed. "Ain't she gon be busy with her restuarant or something?"

"Im sure that's not gunna stop her from coming to your game, what? You don't want us there?" She turned around from the mirror, placing her hand on her hip.

"You, yeah, but when you get with Aunt Trice, y'all just start embarrasing me." She chuckled. "Embarrassing you how? All we do is cheer for you."

I nodded. "Yeah, loudly. Y'all used to be the oudest people at my games, and I know you ain't forget about how Aunt Trice almost fought that one kid's mama cause he tackled me to the ground."

She stepped away from the mirror, slipping on her nursing shoes. "In her defensive, that little boy was something else, and he made you hurt yourself."

I sighed. "It's football mama, it's a manly sport, you get hurt sometimes."

She clipped her name tag on her shirt, before looking over at me, lifting a brow.

"Oh, so your a man now?" She asked in a slight chuckle.

"I been a man mama."

"Them three hairs on yo chest don't make you a man." I sucked my teeth. "You always got jokes."

"And you always be setting yourself up for them, grab my purse for me and take it downstairs while I wake your sister up."

I took a deep breath, standing up from her bed, grabbing her bag. We both stepped out of the room together, but went in seperate directions.

jogged down the steps, placing her purse by her keys on the kitchen counter. I was just about to go back upstairs, when the doorbell rang.

I sighed, stepping down off the first step and turned around to the front door.

I looked through the peep hole and slightly frowned when I seen Will and Chris on my doorstep.

"Who is it?" I looked over my shoulder to see mama coming down the stairs. "Will and Chris."

She shook her head, before heading into the kitchen, as I unlocked the door.

As soon as I pulled the door open, Chris stepped inside, not even giving me a chance to speak first.

"Wassup." He said, biting into his banana. I sighed, giving him a head nod. "Wassup." I pulled the door all the way open, motioning for Will to come inside.

"Morning Ms.Richmond." Chris said with a smirk, as I closed the door behind them. "Goodmorning Christopher, William."

"Hey Ms.R." Will waved a little, before putting his focus back on me. "Can you give us a ride?"

I nodded my head yes. "Yeah, I gotta drop Bria off to before care first."

"Ight, cool."

"Aye Ms.R, you lookin real ravishing in them scrubs if I do say so myself." Chris said, walking over to the kitchen.

"Boy what do you want?" I slightly chuckled, shaking my head at the two of them.

"I was wonderin if you can hook me up with some of them buttermilk biscuits you be makin Marcus for breakfast."
