Marcus P.O.V.

"I can't wait to see the look on this nigga's face when we roll up." I shook my head, turning the corner onto Cordarius' street. "He ain't here in the morning, usually Donovan or Tyree is here, but since both of them niggas been acting funny, ion know who's gunna be here."

Will shrugged. "I hope it's him, so I can tell his ass a thinkg or two about this blackmail shit he got you doing." I sighed. "Ight, and when he releases them tapes, yo ass gon be wishing you ain't say nothin, just let me handle it, I told y'all I got it."

Chris sucked his teeth. "And we said we can help you."

"Yeah if I needed it, and I don't need it."

"Ight, so what you doing then?" He asked, folding his arms across his chest. "Last thing you told us was that Cordarius took the tapes with him when he went out of town doing god knows what, he's back now, so wassup? You don't got no update on that?"

"Tyree is in charge of the tapes, he was suppose to lookin for them when Cordarius got back....but he just disappeared."

Will sighed. "Exactly, that's why you need to let us help you man."

"Steppin to Cordarius about the tapes, ain't helpin the situation, the two of y'all must really wanna go to jail."

Chris frowned. "Jail? Hell nah, Im too cute for jail." I sucked my teeth, turning off the ignition.

"Like I said, ion need y'all help, I've got it under control, just stay here in the car, since I can't trust y'all too keep y'all's mouth's closed."

Will hit the locks, pushing his door open. "Nah, we cool, come on Chris."

I hit the locks before shutting the door. "Don't say nothin to nobody when we in here." I reached down into my pocket, pulling out the $400 I made this morning on my usual morning rounds.

"Okay dad." Chris mumbled.

I ignored him, making my way around the back of his house, where the basement door was.

"His mama ain't here, right?" Will asked, looking around. "Nah, come to think of it, she ain't never here when Im here."

Will chuckled. "I still think it's funny how both of y'all mama's work at that old people home."

"It's a retirement home nigga, and I know." I said, mumbiling the last part. I pushed open the back door, that was usually left open, and stepped inside.

"Damn." Chris said, under his breath. "It's been a minute since we been here." Will nodded his head in agreement.

I closed the door behind them, and made my way down the small set of steps, leading to the basement.

I pushed open the door, automatically frowning, when I seen Donovan sitting by the register.

I looked over at Will and Chris, who looked just as confused as me. "...I thought you said he wasn't here?" Will whispered.

"He hasn't been here." I whispered back. I closed the door behind them, causing Donovan to look up at us. Once he seen Will and Chris behind me, he quickly stood up, frowning.

"What are they doin here?" He asked, standing up straight. "We're on our way to school, I just came to drop this off." I held up the money, so he could see it.

"....Does Cordarius know they're here?" I slightly frowned once I heard the nerves in his voice.

"Nah, it ain't like they gon do somethin, they just came in with me, that's all."
