Chapter 1

♦KEZZIAH♦

“Com’ on Z, we’ve been waiting here for hours.” My friend Melanie wined.

I’m Kezziah, my friends call me Z. I’m 17 and I live in a normal neighborhood. I have three best friends, Melanie, Zack and Kevin. Yesterday a Carnival arrived in town and we decided to take a visit today, because it’s Saturday.

“Yeah I’m coming down in a bit.” I said. I looked at the mirror and knew I looked fine.

I have little crush on Kevin. He’s like my knight and shining armor. He’s always there for me in any time, but mostly in trouble. I don’t know why, but I always get into trouble. I went down stairs and my eyes quickly found him. He was wearing denim jeans and red shirt and a jacket. Leaning on the door frame waiting for me.

“What took you so long?” Melanie said blocking my sight.

“I was just…. Doing some stuff.” I mumbled.

Kevin met my eyes and he smile at me. “Why do girls take so long?” He teases.

“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes, trying to compose myself.

“Let’s go, we are going to miss so much fun.” Zack said.

We all hop into Kevin’s car. Melanie and Zack occupied the back seat.

“Sit with me.” Kevin said and that made my heart jump.

I open the car door and sat in the passenger seat. I relax myself. I took a deep breath... in and out. Twenty minutes later we arrive at the place. Lights, rides, and food stalls were everywhere. A festive atmosphere greeted us with so much warmth.

“Oh, I love carnivals!” Melanie squeaked.

“Let’s go on that one first.” Zack pointed to a ride with a cup.

“PFt… that’s a lame ride. Let’s go there.” Kevin points the hunted house.

“Oh no thanks, I’ll pass.” I shook my head.

“Chicken… bok bok bok.” Zach said and imitates a running chicken.

“Whatever Zachary, I’m not going in.” I said crossing my arms over my chest.

“I’ll come with you, don’t worry my princess.” Kevin said and made a bow like I really was a princess.

I blushed. “Fine, but if anything happens to me in there, all of you will pay for it.” I said sternly.

“I’m out of it.” Melanie said.

We enter the freakin house. Kevin is holding my hand. I’m kind of use to it. But when he held my hand, it felt different every time. I white lady came into view and I tighten my grip on his hand.

“Don’t worry, I’m here.” Kevin whispered in my ear. I nodded.

Zach and Melanie were having a good time making fun of the other creatures that pop up in their way. Someone grabbed my other hand and it made me scream. It’s a little child that looks like he’s dead. Creepy, they have done a good job on makeup. Kevin held me tight.

After a long agonizing tour, we finally reached the exit.

I sighed. “Thank goodness I’m safe.”

“I told you.” Kevin said.

I look around, Melanie and Zach are out of sight. “Where are those two?” I asked.

He shrugged. “I don’t know, maybe they went to find another ride.” He said.

Crap, why did they leave us alone? I don’t know what to say.
