I liked the feeling of being alone; closed eyes, the wind blowing on my face, the darkness of the night holding me as I laid my back down on the grass. I could feel the light of the moon and the stars even though I wasn't looking at them, and I could also notice the heat of her tiny body close to mine when she lay on the grass next to me, her gaze watching my every movement.  She was staring again.

"Hi, Angel." I smiled, feeling her smile as well, chuckling right after. All of her friends had already headed back home, and as the women talked in the living room, she stayed outside with me.

"You're good at this. How do you know I'm here?" She asked, rolling next to me and holding my waist while leaning her chin on my belly, curling her fingers on the ends of my hair.

"I already know your smell, you know?" I finally opened my eyes, surrounding her with my arms. "C'mon, let's watch the sky with me." Her little head turned up and she stared curiously at the dark view above us.

"My teacher said the sky is infinite. Is it true?" she seemed so lost in her on thoughts I couldn't stop smiling; kids were so amazingly curious and adorable.

"I guess so." I said, not really paying attention to my words. "Or maybe it's just really, really huge."

We stayed in silence for a while, looking intently at the shiny dots splattered everywhere. The time seemed not to pass or maybe it just passed way too fast so I could even notice, but being there with that little girl made everything worth somehow.

At some point, I didn't know exactly when, my phone started vibrating, and I stopped hearing Angel's comments about her thoughts on the universe, and all the things she believed.

"K., wherever you are, you better come here. Tyler is about to get into a huge fight and it won't end up fine. We're at that club downtown we usually go.

"So, you know that clown that was here? He got me a firefly. He got it in his hands. It was amazing I... Kirs? Kirs, you hearing me?"

"Really? That's nice..." I tried to pretend I was actually paying attention, but the message got everything I had. Couldn't Tyler stay away from a fight for a whole damn day? "Look, sweetie, I really gotta go now. Tyler couldn't come with me but he asked me to tell you happy birthday."

"That's ok. Are you ok?" She tilted her head to the side once we were already sitting on the grass, analyzing me carefully. "Did something happen?"

"I just gotta make dinner, ok? Happy birthday again." I kissed her forehead and finally stood up, shaking all the dust from my clothes. Suddenly, the realization that it'd take too long to go downtown hit me, and I panicked. How would I make it in time to not let anyone beat the hell out of Tyler? "Umm, Angel? What were you talking about a few moments ago?"

"About the firefly the clown got me. He's really nice you should've seen how many things he can do." Yeah, sure, I definitely wanted him to paint a butterfly on my cheek or juggle for me.

"Is he still here?" I started looking for him with my eyes, but he was nowhere I could see.

"Probably, I don't know. Ask mum, she was talking to him a few minutes ago."
