Chapter 33 : Another Bait

Hyoyeon tapped her foot to the ground in Seunghyun's office, waiting for him to return. It was already an hour since Hyoyoen handed over the files she

got from Sunny to Seunghyun. Now, Seunghyun was negotiating with the higher brass.

Hyoyeon sighed and sighed until Seunghyun finally entered his office.

"You're still here?" he said.

"Of course. So?"

"No good."

"What do you mean 'no good'?"

"Princess will be relieved from her duties," Seunghyun said, he put a hearing report on his desk, "other than that, I can't do anything about the facility."

"Great," Hyoyeon let out a relieved breath, "what do you mean you can't do anything about the facility?" asked Hyoyeon.

Seunghyun sat down on his chair and poured water on a glass, "they're gonna rebuild it."

"The higher brass didn't listen to you?"

"No. I told them about the Blood Facility, hell, I went out on a limb to print out the classified files and shoved it under their noses."

"They didn't care?"

"They knew. They knew everything about the facility, they authorized it. They were conducting experiments to make a cure, a serum to turn a Gifted

into a normal person. Side effects, however, result in deaths? sometime."

Hyoyeon raised her tone, "sometimes? Oppa, didn't you read the list? There is not a single name in that list that's still breathing and walking here in

Korea!"

"That's the best I can do, Hyo. I have to approve all these, otherwise you and Sunny and not to mention Sooyoung will be out of here, from the

organization. I don't want that," Seunghyun took a sip on his drink.

"Oppa!" Hyoyeon smacked Seunghyun's desk, "we are doing a very terrible thing."

"Hyo," Seunghyun looked inside her eyes.

"We're killing innocent people!"

"But we have to, they are dangerous to humanity!"

"Even little girls!?"

"You're questioning about this now!? You never once hesitated when it comes to Yuri and Taeyeon, all you talk about is killing them! Since when you

become such a sentimental person?"

"This is different!" Hyoyeon roared.

"Different how!?"

"I thought we were doing the right thing? I thought we're healing the Gifted, I never thought--."

"Hyo," Seunghyun lowered his voice, "I got to say that I agree with them."

"Agree?"

"This research is necessary. We need to find the cure."

"But it killed them! Forget the 96%, how about the 4% that survived? They put them to sleep! Even the term they use sounds like they're researching on

dogs!"

"Imagine how these Gifteds will do if they were released to the society. Imagine how big and uncontrollable a crime must have gotten."

"Some of them were innocent," Hyoyeon sighed.

"We can't take any risk."

"We made them like they are today. Eeteuk and his gang, if we didn't push them to the edge then--."
