Part 47

"Alex, just get your ass over here, they will let you know soon." 

That was the last thing his father had spoken to him and he can feel his whole body shakes in fear. Something must have happened to Henry otherwise why his father is calling him to say such things. He wished he could ran towards Henry but the hospital isn't exactly near and his mother won't agree of him running across the street of New York.

It took them half an hour to beat the traffic in New York to arrive at the hospital and he complained the whole time he was inside the cab with his mother. "Did dad say anything why he wants us to come to the hospital?" He asks her in the cab and she shook her head at him. They both had the same look on their faces concerned over Henry's well being.

He literally sprinted over the hallways heading to Henry's room with Ellen's hand in his grip not wanting her to be left behind. She huffed in her chest feeling the burning in her after all those running Alex had made him. "Jeez, Alex calm down!" Ellen told him as they rode the elevator and Alex smiled seeing her huffed and puffed fighting for her breath. "We used to run together. I miss that." He says and Ellen scoffed, "Not the time or place." She says and they smiled together.

As the elevator door opened, Alex literally ran towards Henry room finding his father stood on the outside of Henry's room talking to a doctor, one of Henry's doctor. "What happened?" He asks and the doctor taps his father's shoulder before he nods and left. Alex was panting with his breath and confused at his gesture and his father pulls him to the side. "Whatever happens, we are all here together." His father told him and he backs away.

"No. No, don't tell me- no, Henry." He literally pushed past his father and break the door opened to enter Henry's room. Ellen followed him subtly from behind with Oscar by her side. She can see how calm her husband is and her eyebrows furrowed at his gesture but Oscar only shook his head with his finger on his lips silencing her.

Alex barged into the room finding Henry by the bed just like how he left him only no more monitors on him. The room fell silent without any of that machine making beeping sounds like they used too and Alex felt his heart dropped into his stomach. They had removed everything including the oxygen monitor around his finger. Alex can hear his heart is breaking slowly as he took a step by Henry side and sat on his bedside. "Hen?" He wrapped his arm around Henry's waist and his other stroking his hair out from his forehead and his fingers trails his cheek feeling the softness of his skin.

"Baby?" He whispered and the next thing he knew, Henry flutters his eyes opened making Alex jumped from his seat. "Alex." He whispered back and he can see Alex is standing few feet away with his eyes widen and his jaw apart. He raised his hand for him but Alex didn't make any sign of movement. "Baby." He calls and Alex frozen in his stand couldn't believe what he is seeing right now. "Breathe babe. Breathe." Henry told him and Alex finally exhaled out a breath that he held with his eyes glistened in tears of seeing Henry awake.

He literally crushed towards Henry and wrapped himself over Henry's neck suffocating him under his hug. "I'm right here, I'm right here." Henry whispered and Alex pulls away to check on him. "Are you okay? Are you in pain?" He asks stroking Henry's cheek with his thumb. Henry shook his head and smiled weakly, "I'm alright." He says and Alex didn't think twice before he pressed his lips towards Henry feeling the last ten days he spent worrying about him finally paid off.

They can hear Ellen sobbed in tears as their both detached from their kiss. Henry looked from behind Alex and saw her cries and smiled. "I'm fine. I'm okay." Henry says as he sat up with help from Alex raising the head of the bed and held out his palm for her. She took it in tears and immediately wrapped her arm around Henry's and Henry stroked her back softly. "It's not your fault, you know that right." Henry whispers in her ears and she nods. "I knew you find your way back to us." Ellen whispers and Henry smiled.
