There was no moon in the sky that night, the stars were covered with thick black cloud, the atmosphere was dense, the howling sounds of wind could be heard, and just in the blink of an eye, a lightning struck and flashed it's powerful light down to the ground.

Sounds of sword could be heard from a distance, a group of soldiers clad in black clothing fought with some men in red.

Blood was flowing like a stream on the ground, there were a lot of knives and swords that were all covered in dark red blood.

Corpses, both young and adult, boys and girls, women and men, all in beautiful clothing were lying dead on the floor.

Among those corpses were two familiar ones, the woman wore a gold necklace around her neck, she was dressed in a beautiful cream-colored ball gown, a white hand glove, and a pair of white shiny shoes. A little diadem was placed on her head, she is Queen Ximena of khaerolia who was just killed by the invaders. Beside her corpse was also the body of her husband, the handsome King Ciaran of Khaerolia, they were all dressed in robes made out of royal fabrics.

"Mother!" A light voice was heard from the backspace, and the young woman ran towards the body of the King and Queen.

The delicate young beautiful lady was nicely dressed in a blue off shouldered ball gown, she had plenty of long and lustrous blonde hair that seemed to be gleaming in the dark along with her beautiful tiara, her sapphire colored eyes began to drop out tears, while her pink lips muttered a "No!"

She knelt beside her parent's corpse, then stretched out her gloved hands to touch their faces.

"Mother, Father" she croaked as she saw the blood that was stained at the lower part of her mother's gown.

'This is unfair' She thought while tears dropped out of her eyes.

How was she going to survive without her parents? who was going to look after her young sister?

Raelyn stood up from the ground and looked around, perhaps she would find her brother, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Aaaaaaaah!" She heard a loud scream that seems to be coming out of her hiding place, and instantly she remembered her little sister whom she had told to hide back there. But why did she scream? Had something happened to her?

Raelyn ran back to her hiding place as fast as her two legs could carry her, but as she got there, she saw her sister already unconscious.

"Aylin what wrong? what happened to you?" she asked as she tapped her, hoping that she hadn't lose her again.

Raelyn checked below her gown, and it was stained with blood, but she was not injured, was she?

Alas it was Aylin's back that was oozing out blood, an arrow was stuck there, the little girl managed to speak.

"Raelyn, where is mother?" she asked weakly with tears on her eyes.

Raelyn couldn't tell her sister that their parents had been killed.

"I told you not to leave your room, now look you've been shot" Raelyn cried and wondered why this was happening to her.

Who were the people that invaded their peaceful kingdom?

And why would they have to attack their kingdom when they were celebrating a very special event?

It was her eighteenth birthday, and they had hosted a very special ball this year. The Royal families were all having a great time when the unknown armed men barged into the ballroom.

Raelyn was still thinking of what to do when an arrow landed in front of her, she had narrowly escaped been shot.

When she looked up, she saw a masked army standing at the wall above, and already setting his bow, wanting to make her his target. Raelyn stood up abruptly with her sister before the arrow could penetrate her.

And when the army missed his target, he jumped down the wall and removed his sword  determined to kill the girl, he moved towards her and tore the upper part of her dress with his sword, she had a deep cut on her right shoulder, and it began to bleed.

Being a skilled fighter, Raelyn grabbed a sword from the floor and ruthlessly fought with the black guy.

They had killed her parents without thinking twice, she would do the same with them, even if it was only this tiny broomstick guy here.

She succeeded in thrusting the sword into the man's eye, blood began to ooze out, staining her blue dress at the same time.

Before the remaining soldiers could figure out what was happening and where the princess was, Raelyn ran with her sister.

She had to take off her high heels  in other to run fast, twigs and stones pricking her soft feet.

Raelyn only had to continue crying as she heard the sound of horses running after her.

There was still a long way to go, and she was still within the palace premises.

Raelyn knew that her legs were getting weaker, she fell down with her sister and rolled on the ground.

The hundred men following her with their horses stopped suddenly.

"Where the heck is she!" Asked their masked leader in frustration

Others looked around while sitting on their horses.

"Perhaps she disappeared" they murmured within themselves.

"Climb down and check, we can't let that girl live" Ordered their leader. "At least the younger one is dead, she can't be an exception" he added.

The soldiers climb down their horses and searched around the entire place.

Their leader was furious. "She must have found a passage way to help her escape, we can't let her go free. We must find her!"

Raelyn who had rolled and fell into a pit could hear their voices vaguely.

She closed her eyes as she couldn't even lift her finger.

'I know I'm gonna die' was what entered her mind.

She knew for sure that this was the end of her royal life even if she was gonna survive.
