A MONTH LATER
It was a week before the New Year,Anuseena were returning from a business party.
"Kitna thand hain na aaj bahar Anubhav."Haseena said rubbing her arms.
"Hoga hi na.. December end chal raha hain,issliye kahe rahe hain car heater chalu karne dijiye."He said.
"Nahi na...humein ulti aati hain."She said frowning.
"Gaadi roko."He said suddenly.
"Kya hua?"Haseena asked.
"Aap gaadi mein baithiye."He said and got out of the car.
Haseena saw him crossing the road and going towards a beggar sitting on the footpath.She too got down the car and followed him.
As Haseena reached at the footpath she noticed that the homeless man wasn't alone but also had a dog and 4 puppies with him.She stood their silently.
"Itni thand mein aap yaha kyun baithe hain?"Anubhav asked initiating a conversation.
"Toh kaha Jaye hum saheb....Umar ho Rahi hain toh bete ne Ghar se nikal diya,rishtedaro ne bhi muh pher liya abb kahan jaye hum."The elderly man said with a sad smile.
"Toh yeh kambal aapne khud odhne ki jagah inhe kyun odha rakha hain?"Anubhav asked pointing towards the mother dog and her puppies.
"Toh kya karte sahab...meri tarah inka bhi koi nahi..aur inn baccho ko thand mein tadapta chhod main thodi kambal mein aaram kar sakta hoon."The man said caressing the mother dogs head.
"Aapko padhna likhna aata hain?"Anubhav asked the man.
"Jii sahab...hisaab kitab kar lete hain."
"Toh aapke liye ek kaam hain humare paas...rahena,khana sab muft."
"Sach mein sahab!!"The man's eyes sparkled."Parantu saheb hum chale Gaye toh humare yeh bacche."He said looking the doggy and her babies who were sleeping being milk drunk.
"Chinta mat kijiye...ek shelter chalate Hain hum,jahan inn besahare bezubaon ka khayal rakkha jaata hain aur waha kaam bhi wahi karte hain jinka iss duniya mein koi nahi hain dhyan rakhne k liye.Aise mein aapko innse bichhadna bhi nahi padega aur aap sab aaram se rahe sakte hain."He said.
"Aap bhagwan hain saheb."The man tried to touch Anubhav's feet but he stopped him.
Anubhav dialled a number...
"Hello Pawan humne ek location WhatsApp Kiya hain gaadi lekar aajao....haan ek mother aur chaar bacche hain."He said and Disconnected the call.
All this while Haseena was standing beside him silently.
"Humein nahi pata tha ki aap ek shelter bhi chalate Hain."She said with a small smile.
"Haan...abb uparwale ne humein khule haathon se diya hain toh uska ek Chhota hissa hum inn zarooratmand aur bezubaanon k liye istemal toh kar sakte hain."He said.
"Waise aap bahar kyun aagayi..kitni thand padh rahi hain."
"Koi baat nahi hum theek hain."She said.
The mother dog got up from her place and came near Haseena and started rubbing itself against her legs.
