Chapter: 9

Two day has passed, Boun asked him in a low tone

" It's already been two days, when... will you go?"

" Nobody know the portal can open up at anytime so don't be shocked if I... abruptly disappear"

Boun snuggled up to him. They spent hours with each other watching movies and all, in the evening Tawan asked Boun if they could go on a walk. Boun nodded and got ready, he was putting on his shoes and jacket when a light shined upon him. He turned to Tawan and saw a bright light behind him, looking almost like a window. Tawan held his hand gently and said with a soft smile

" I guess it's time"

" Can you not go?"

Boun held Tawan's hand on his cheek, tears already flowing down his face. Tawan's eyes getting damp as he looked at Boun.

" Sorry love, I have to but you can't be sad okay, you have to stay happy for me to get back, I'll be always there in your heart "

" Promise me you'll come back"

" I promise, I love you Boun"

" I love you too"

Tawan wiped away the tears on Boun's face and kissed him on the forehead, stepping in the portal. As soon as he stepped in it closed. Boun broke into tears on the front door, he sat down on the floor sobbing for hours.

At Jom's side he was unbothered at first but later on he started missing him and realized that without the annoyance of Faih, how lonely it was. Even if he acted like he hated that constant bothering, cringey pick up lines, and Faih getting close to him, now that it all ended it was too lonely. Boun refused to go out, he kept zoning out all the time, Jom temporarily moved in with him to take care of him. When he went back to work he zoned out looking at Tawan's cabin. At lunch he either sat alone or skipped it. Hours turned into days, days turned into week, week into months, months into a year. Boun was at his graduation. The couples and parents of the other students giving them flowers and were at the event. Boun looked at the other receiving their flowers when a hand brought out a bouquet of flowers. He turned around excitedly thinking it was Tawan but it was Jom. Jom hugged Boun and patted him.

"It's okay, P'Tawan promised he'll be back"

"I know, but still..."

All of Boun's cheerfulness was gone. He isolated himself from people, kept himself busy with work, overworked himself. Jom started to regret not confessing his feelings about Faih.

One day Boun was sitting on the park bench looking at some kids playing. Someone tapped his shoulder, he turned around to see Jom. Jom felt bad for his friend and asked

" You wanna go get some ice-cream?"

" I'll pass"

" Miss Tawan?"

" Mm, don't you miss Faih?"

" No... We weren't anything to begin with"

" The high pitched no says otherwise"

Jom smiled and dragged him to the ice-cream parlor. Later on when he reached home he found that his door was unlocked. He picked up a stick to arm himself. As soon as he saw who got in, he dropped his stick in shock. Tawan stood before him with a bouquet of tulips in his hand. He extended his arms smiling and said

" Sorry I'm late"

His eyes teared up, he at first thought he was dreaming again. He got closer
" You really came back"

" How could I not?"

" Don't ever leave me for so long"

" I'm sorry, love"
