Hey everyone, I just want to thank you all for reading my story :D

I took a little break from writing but I'm back now. Chapter 14 should be out soon but for now enjoy this special.

{Hidden Bonds~Asch x Reader}

[Pov: Y/n]

The night was shrouded in darkness, broken only by the pale glow of the moon. I stood in the living room by an open window, the cold breeze rustling through my hair. It was a night like any other, or so I thought until I heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps approaching.

I keep looking out the window until I hear someone call out to me "Lady Y/n"

I turn around to be met with Asch walking towards me, his silhouette was framed by the moonlight. I was a little nervous being around him at the moment, especially after the incident with my father the other day.

"Asch" I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. "What are you doing here?"

His steps were deliberate as he closed the distance between us. The dim light painted shadows across his face, making it even more inscrutable. "I came to check on you" he said, his words laced with a rare sincerity that caught me off guard.

I averted my gaze, suddenly feeling self-conscious under his penetrating stare. "I'm fine," I mumbled, even though I wasn't sure if I was trying to convince him or myself.

I then remember the way Asch stoped my father from hitting me, the flash of anger that painted his face when he looked at my father. I wonder why he was so mad, We weren't close, not by a long shot. In fact, I barely knew him, and yet, in that one instance, he had shown a side of himself I hadn't expected.

"Why did you intervene the other day?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

Asch's expression tightened, and for a moment, it seemed like he might evade the question. But then, he sighed and ran a hand through his dark hair, a gesture that hinted at vulnerability.

"My father was rather hash too" he looks away but doesn't stop talking "I was reminded of myself"

His response surprised me. Asch was known for his stoicism, his reluctance to reveal anything about himself. But here he was, opening up about something that had clearly affected him.

I nodded slowly, still unsure of how to react. Asch came to stand beside me, looking out the open window with me. The moonlight bathed us both in its soft glow, casting our shadows onto the wooden floor.

For a while, we stood in silence, the cool night air filling the room. Asch's presence, once intimidating, now felt oddly comforting. We watched the night unfold together.

I suddenly start to shiver from the cold air blowing in from the window, Asch noticed this and proceeds to take off his fluffy cape and drapes if over my shoulder. The warmth from the cape enveloped me like a protective embrace, and I couldn't help but glance up at him with surprise and gratitude in my eyes. Asch met my gaze with a small, almost imperceptible smile.

With the cape providing a shield against the night's chill, we continued to stand by the window, side by side, sharing the serenity of the moonlit night.

I lay my head on his shoulder and I feel him tense up for a second before relaxing again. I don't know what I'm doing, the Daemos are a threat to the human kind, but I can't help but feel myself getting attached.

Asch's steady breathing was a comfort, his warmth seeping through the fabric of his cape. With each passing second, my attachment to Asch seemed to grow stronger, defying the rationality that had guided my decisions thus far. I knew the path ahead was treacherous, but for now, I let myself lean into the connection that was blossoming in the moonlit embrace of the night.
