A light rain pitter pattered on your window, your eyes Fluttered open at the grey sky. The distant sound of thunder shook your home. Wind howled through the San dunes, ripples on the waves shown. Your windows shook carefully from the wind. You felt a large hand gripping your chest. Your hand moved carefully to Javier's, his breathing slow, but his warm breath tickled the back of your neck. He snored, not unbearably but a slight snort every now and then. You sighed and wiggled closer to his waist and body, his chest was warm. His hair stuck to his forehead. You gently moved his hand from your chest, his fingers gripped around the soft flesh of your breast. Your nipple perked up when his hand dragged across your breast. You slowly snaked out of your bed, doing your best not to wake him. You stood up and grabbed the towel that was draped over the stair railing and made your way to the bathroom. The cold tile on the floor made the hairs on the back of your hair stand up. Your warm legs brushed up against each other, you could feel the little hairs slowly growing in. You didn't care, and you knew Javier cared even less. You walked inside your bathroom and slowly closed the door, making sure the click of the door knob didn't wake Javier up from his rest. You set the towel down on the sink counter, you bent down into the small cabinets and pulled out one of the scented candles you had stocked up on from A 20% off sale. You dug through the drawer and found an extra lighter, it was half dead. You managed to light the candle and set it down far from your towel. Coconut with hints of vanilla. You took your underwear off and rubbed your face, you also shimmied off your socks with one foot. You waited for the water to get hot before stepping in. Your hair smelled like cheap vodka, it was best to give it a good wash. You stepped in the shower half asleep and let your body become drenched from the steaming water. Your hair draped over your body, warming it. You squeezed your hair out and sighed. Your hand went to your shoulder, gently tracing your shape with your fingers. It felt like you had someone with you, your back went to the wall of the shower and you slid down to the shower floor. You sat with your legs to your chest and the running water continued to beat against your scalp. You looked down at your arm, a tinted ring was starting to form around your wrist. Your fingers traces it and pressed into it making you wince. A soft knock at the door startled you, your head shot up- your head hit the back of the shower wall making you let out a loud groan and a thud. Your hand went to the back of your head, holding it. "You ok?" Javier's sleepy voice quietly filled the room, you heard a click of the lock and the door opened. You nodded, tears filled your eyes from the overwhelming pain in the morning. "Yeah I'm alright." You took a deep breath and let it out shakily. The roaring water hid your tense breathing, you could see the outline of Javier's silhouette from the shower curtain, it wasn't clear. More of a ominous shadow moving around your bathroom. "Can I get in?" His voice was gravely, but full of excitement. You stood up and sighed, "yes of course." You couldn't see it but you knew he was smiling like a kid in a candy shop. You could hear his belt buckle jingle and the sound of his pants hit the floor. You moved out of the way to give room
For Javier to step in the shower comfortably. He stepped in and gave you a sleepy smile, his hands wrapped around your body. Your body was sore, but it was nice having his warmth embrace you. "Your quiet." You nodded your head, "just tired Javier. Don't worry about it." You moved out of the way and let him shuffle to where the running water was. He turned from you and let his body get wet. You looked at his back, a large bruise dragged across his broadness. And by his hip there was a circular scar, it was large. "Hey jav, where did you get that scar?" He stopped and looked back at you, "got shot." Your eyes nearly bursted out of your head. "When??" He shrugged, "after you left, went on that raid by the coast. And well, shit happens." Your jaw hung open, "why didn't you tell me?" He turned around to get his back wet. "Didn't want too, I knew you would never let me hear the end of it. Besides, it's healed." He patted the spot, "what about the massive bruise on your back? I'm not that blind." His face changed and he looked at you confused. His tried looking behind him self, his arm went to his back and pushed against the skin. He gasped. "Probably from last night, that's why my back hurts so much then." You sighed and grossly admired the purple and yellow tinted skin that spread across his body, like a infection.
