Draco

As weeks passed, nothing odd happened.

By nothing odd, Draco meant, Carter still being mad at him.

The blond let out a deep sigh and stared at his plate.

Today was his birthday.

He didn't even have the guts to say it to him.

"Happy Birthday!"

A bright smile appeared on Carter's face as he sat down.

Draco had always loved his smile, there was something so angel-like about it.

Maybe it was because he didn't smile so often, but still.

The moment Lestrange sat next to him, he looked away.

Draco's intention had never been to let her drown. But of course, he had been jealous of her for about half of his life.

It often seemed as if his father preferred her over him.

But how? He was his son, right?

When Draco started to attend Hogwarts, everyone in Slytherin had given her more attention than him.

She had made friends, real friends, unlike Draco.

He hated her back then.

Leyla had never told him she couldn't swim, nobody ever told him that. Sure he was mean, but not that mean.

Draco never got to tell Carter the truth of why they had broken up.

He hated fighting with Carter.

And Draco, he had done everything his father had told him to, nothing less or more.

His gaze turned toward the small box that he was holding.

The blond had gone to Hogsmeade last week, just to buy a present for him.

Which should have been the least he could do, but it was raining.

And Draco Malfoy absolutely hated the rain.

All he was hoping for was for the raven to accept the present.

A confused expression appeared on the raven's face as he noticed Draco, who refused to loat him in the eye.

Moments later, he felt the weight removed from his hands.

He almost let out a sigh of relief

"Don't open it yet" he muttered, hard enough for Carter to hear, and shoved a spoon of scrambled eggs in his mouth.

Carter

"You did what?" Carter asked, side-eying his best friend.

Laughter escaped her mouth as she spoke, only to burst into laughter once again.

The boy ticked her on the forehead. Pansy then took a deep breath and looked at him with the biggest grin he had ever seen.

"I organised a surprise party for you-"

"This is the thing I don't get, why the bloody hell would you tell me that? It's not for nothing a surprise imbecile"

While headshaking, the two continued to walk.

Pansy was only capable of keeping serious secrets.

Not to mention that nine out of ten times, she was the worst liar.
