My head was spinning as I woke up, and I heard voices echoing just beyond my horizon. Squinting, sunlight pierced through the window finding myself in an unknown bedroom.

I gave it a look down, confused; it didn't look like any building in Jubilife Village. Sitting up, I looked at myself in the mirror, my clothes were dirty, and I had a bandage wrapped around my head. It took me a moment to catch my breath as I approached the sound coming from behind the door. Creaking it open, I peered out, finding the house empty. As I walked around the corner following the voices, I paused, dazed. There was a painting with moving images that were also talking. I approached the strange device looking behind for the people on screen. "What the Arceus is this... Mimi! Mimi, where are you, girl!? Mimi!"

I stumbled over a chair, walking around disjointed as Zorua came running out, jumping on the sofa and shouting at me. "There you are... We, we need, I don't know. Something isn't right here. We need to get back home."

Zorua jumped on my shoulder as I pushed the doors open on a completely different location; this looked nothing like Hisui.  "Hey, wait!" A girl shouted from another room. My heart began racing as I took off sprinting, lost and confused as she continued to call.

Nothing made sense; I saw Pokemon I didn't recognise, locations that meant nothing to me. I was in sensory overload, struggling to breathe. I couldn't concentrate as I took another step back, losing my balance and falling into a cave. Crashing to the bottom, I slowly pulled myself up, coughing up dirt. "Mimi... Are you alright?"

Zorua darted around, pushing me in an attempt to help me up. Rising to my feet, I looked at the cave entrance, gobsmacked. "Where on earth are we?"

Taking a step, I winced with a sprained ankle. Sitting on a rock to take the load off, I pulled out my Pokedex, tearing through pages, feeling more isolated with each pageturner. "Not one of those Pokemon appears in here; not even the Professor's notes add anything. I, I don't think we're in Hisui Mimi... It must have been that space-time distortion; the question is, how do we get back?"

Lowering my head, I sighed, looking at Zorua, and giving her a faint smile. "You're right; no point sulking about it. The first course of action, getting out of this cave."

As I turned to climb the rocky terrain, I heard a mighty roar come from behind us. I turned startled, seeing a Houndoom approaching looking furious. "Whoa... A Houndoom; I've never seen one up close before; he looks pretty angry. But, joke on you; I have just the Pokemon to turn the tides of this battle. Let's do this, Goodra... Wait, my belt! Damn it, I must have dropped it when fighting that Salamence!"

Zorua looked at me, determined to stand her ground. "Well, I guess we have no choice, girl; let's take it down!"

Zorua jumped into battle, waiting for my orders.

Leaning against the rocks, I bit my lip concerned. "Houndoom is a fire dark type... Mimi's attacks won't be effective against it; to make matters worse, it's against her only weakness. That doesn't matter! No Pokemon is too strong for the likes of us; Mimi creates an opening blinding it with Night Daze!"

Zoura crouched down, running ahead, jumping in the air and sending out the blinding attack doing minor, yet effective damage. Houndoom jumped back, trying to shake it off, missing a crunch simultaneously. Finally, Zoura retreated back to me as I nervously nodded. "We just have to keep on our toes blinding it; we've got this in the bag Mimi."

Of course, I spoke too soon as Houndoom roared, shaking the cave. Suddenly dozens more houndours came to the Houndoom's aid, making me flinch. "For the love of Arceus, not good! Mimi, we have to run return- Crap, not Mimi's pokeball too!"

Stepping backwards, Zoura jumped on my shoulder as I kept fidgeting with my items; a faint light of hope appeared as I found my last smoke bomb. "Now or never!"
