Napakunot ang noo ko. She slept late? Eh around 9 nakauwi na kami.
Pinag walang bahala ko nalang muna iyon at naghanda na para umalis.
Agad akong sinalubong ni Zayden sa entrada palang ng bahay. "Daddy!" yumakap eto sa akin.
"Good morning big boy!" Ginulo ang buhok niya. "Is mom awake na?"
"No daddy. She's still sleeping."
"Oh." Naglibot ako ng tingin. Ang tahimik na ng bahay. "Where's lolo and lola?" Tanong ko.
"They went out with manang do buy some groceries." Ngumit lang eto. Handang sumagot sa bawat tanong kong isusunod.
"So it's just you and mommy here?"
"No. Manong is in the backyard fixing something.."
Sumilip pa ako sa mahabang long dinning table nila sa di kalayuan ng kinatatayuan namin.
"Did everybody eat breakfast already?" Tanong ko.
"Lolo and Lola did.." ngumiti siya ulit. "I told them I can't join them cause you were coming.."
"Okay." natawa ako. "Let's cook breakfast then? Before mommy wakes up." Kinarga ko eto papunta kusina at nagsimulang maghanap ng kung anong pwedeng lutuin.
Zayden is indeed a big boy already. Halatang laki sa lola dahil sa karunungan neto sa kusina. He assisted me while cooking and of course asked me questions on the side too.
"Where did you learn to cook dad?" "Do you cook for yourself everyday?" "Who's the better cook? You or mommy?"
Halos sunod sunod niyang natanong. Natatawa nalang ako.
"Maybe next time, you'll be the one to cook for mom and dad.." marahang ginulo ko ang buhok niya.
"Zayden??" Rinig naming sambit papalapit sa amin. "Where are you? Is your Dad— oh.."
Natigilan eto when they saw us in the kitchen, cooking.
"Aga mo?" Nagulat eto.
"Did you read my messages?"
Marahang tumango lang eto. "I thought wala ka pa.." she cleared her throat. "Matagal pa yan?" Sumilip siya bahagya sa niluluto namin.
"No mommy.. i think it's gonna be done na." Sagot si Zayden.
"Okay. Good.." ngumiti eto. "I have work kase.."
"But it's sunday?" Pagtataka ko. "Sunday is family day, no work allowed."
Bumuntong hininga siya. "It doesn't apply anymore Hue.. And this is important. We have to revise the presentation for next week's business trip."
