Umer was typing on his laptop furiously, working in the office and tiring himself out is the only thing he did nowadays to get away from the memories, he was extremely heart-broken because he liked Hoor a lot, he could see his future with her. He was typing when his phone rang
"Hello, kaun" he picked up the phone without checking the caller id
"Itne busy ho gaye ki ab apni maa ki awaz bhi nahi pehchante" his mother spoke from the other side.
His parents were worried for him, he was a fun loving and jolly guy but all he did was work.
"aisi baat nahi hain ammi, maine bas dhyan nahi diya" he tried to explain
"accha bas bas ab zyada safayi dene ki zaroorat nahi hain, sab samajhti hoon main" Umer rubbed his hand all over his face
"aap ne kis liye call kiya hain ammi" he asked, tiredness was dripping from his voice.
"beta kab tak aise khud ko saza dete rahoge, uss ladki ke wajah se tum apni zindagi nahi kharab nahi sakte" his mother asked him, seeinh her son in this state also pains her.
"ammi aisa kuch bhi nahi hain jaisa aap soch rahi hain, main kisi ki wajah se khud ko saza nahi de raha" he again tried explain.
"maa hoon tumhari sab samajhti hoon" Umer closed his eyes, not wanting to have conversation, when he heard voices outside his office
"ammi mujhe kaam hain , main aapse ghar aakar baat karta hoon" saying that he cut the call went outside.
Umer opened the door, saw a girl was talking to the guard and his other employees were also standing there
"please mujhe ekbar unse mil lene dijiye, mera jaana bohot zaroori hain" she was pleading to the guard who was trying to take her out of the office
"mam aap samajh kyun nahi rahi, aap iss waqt sir se nahi mil sakti" the receptionist tried to make him understand.
The guard was about pull her, then he decided to made his presence known
"kya ho raha hain yahan" he asked, everyone was who were watching went to their work
"sir, yeh ladki aap se milne ki zid kar rahi hain, hum ne in se bohot bar kaha par yeh nahi maan rahi hain" his receptionist immediately told him
He looked at the girl, she was wearing plain simple salwar kameez, the dupatta was on her head only few strands of hair was showing, her face was red from the crying
"aap sab jaiye aapna kaam kijiye" he told them, he turned to the girl
"aap mere saath aiye" saying that he went to his office and the girl followed him
They entered his office, he went to his chair, asked her to sit
"yeh lijiye paani pijiye" he offered her a glass of water.
The girl finished the girl in a gulp, like she was thirsty for days.
"shukriya" she said in a small voice.
"ab bataiye aap kaun hain aur kis liye aayi hain yahan" he asked her
Her eyes were teary again, she took a deep breathe and started speaking
"jee mera naam rabiya hain, main aapke yahan naukri ki talash mein aayi hoon" she told him
Umer was looking at her the entire time, when she stopped,
"dekhiye miss Rabiya, humare office mein ab naukri ke liye koi bhi post khali nahi hain" he told her
"aap samajh nahi rahe hain, mujhe naukri ki bohot zarurat hain, please" she pleaded.
"main samajh sakta hun, but I am sorry main aab kuch nahi kar sakta" he apologized
He could see the disappointed in her eyes, she got up from the seat, she was about to open the door when he stopped her
"suniye, rukiye" Umer stooped her because he suddenly remembered his assistant's post was empty and he was about interview few people tomorrow.
"jee" she looked at him, with hopeful eyes.
"tomorrow we are holding interviews for the post of my assistant, you can come tomorrow with your papers" he told her
For the first time he saw her smiling, she had a big smile on her face.
"thank you...thank you so much" she wiped her tears and thanked him. Umer didn't say anything he just nodded his head.
After she left, Umer was still thinking about her, she had something in her which pulled him towards her Then he shook the thoughts out of his head and start working again.
Umer left his office late, he knew his mother was going to be angry again.
He was driving when he saw a girl, standing at the side of the road. The road was empty and dark which was not safe so he decided to ask her, he stopped the car in front of the girl, he rolled down the windows
"excuse me, aap itni raat ko yahan kya kar rahi hain" he asked, the girl turned towards him and he was shocked
It was Rabiya, he was confused what she was doing here
"aap...yahan kya kar rahi hain itni raat ko" he asked her
"main....main woh kuch kaam se aayi thi yahan" she told him
"chaliye main aapko drop kar deta hun...yahan itni raat ko khaade rehna safe nahi hain" he offered her
"nahi koi baat nahi main chali jaungi" he knew she didn't wanted rode with a stranger which was a good thing
"listen you can trust me, aur mujhe nahi lagta iss waqt aapko koi aur bus ya auto milegi, so please let me drop you" he again said
She resisted at first then she agreed,
"waise aap kar kya rahi thi yahan" he asked her
"main aapne bhai ke liye medicine lene aayi thi" he could see the medicine bag in her hands
"bas yahi rok dijiye mera ghar aagaya" she told him, Umer saw a dark road, the area was not safe he could understand that
Rabeya thanked him and got out the car, Umer was looking at her till she disappeared in the dark,
He was driving but his mind was occupying with her thoughts, he couldn't understand the reason he was so attracted towards a girl he just met, maybe it was life giving him another chance.
Yaaaaay aaj ki sham umer ke naam...you all were interested in Umer's story so I thought why not dedicate a chapter to him.
