                                                                                 ~ 𝓐𝓹𝓱𝓻𝓸𝓭𝓲𝓽𝓮 ~

I felt my heart dropped at the sight of him my hand were shaking I felt an anxiety attack starting to kick in but I was interrupted when Beatrix held on to my hand and gave me a reassuring smile  "I am here for you" she mouthed and I felt my muscles relax  "you guys are attending this party too"  Lucy asked in her annoying voice  "oh yeah we are" Beatrix in behalf of me knowing I wasn't able to utter a single word 

"oh do you guys know someone from here"  she asked and hooked her arms to Leonardo's  "oh um Aphrodite she owns this building" Beatrix says proudly and I just gave a small smile to Lucy as she looked at me in shock  "oh my god I didn't know" she gave me a big smile  "yeah she worked really hard to get here I am actually impressed that she did it all in one year" Bea bragged  "that is amazing Aphrodite" she claps her hand 

"thank you" was all I can say and looked back down onto the floor hand in hand with Bea  "oh I forgot this is my boyfriend Leonardo" she introduced  "hi" Beatrix offered her free hand for a shake knowing very well who he is  "babe this is Beatrix and that is Aphrodite" Lucy introduced the both of us  "pleasure meeting you both" Leo says and shook Bea hand. His voice still gives me butterflies in my tummy I missed it 

"Babe Aphrodite company must be the one that you sign the contract with" Lucy say to Leonardo  "yeah" he bluntly said and we all look up when a sound was made signaling that the elevator was here  "let's go" Bea whispered. I walked in still looking down  "Aphrodite are you feeling okay" Lucy asked  "yeah she is just nervous, this is her first time successfully signing a big contract" Beatrix lied 

"Leonardo made a good choice signing the contract" Lucy praised me but I wasn't feeling it so I just gave her a smile and went back to looking down at the ground  "well we are here let's go" Lucy say and Beatrix stops me  "I think Aphrodite need some time to calm down in her office we will join in a bit" Beatrix then let the elevator door close before Lucy could give an answer 

"are you okay he is gone babe" she pat my back  "why now, why him" I whispered and looked up at her tears threatening to fall   "hey you can do this Aphrodite you came so far you can't let his presence ruin it" she soothe me and we both finally reach the floor of my office  "here have some water" she passes me water once we were seated on the couch in my office  "thank you" I gave her a weak smile my head being all over the place 

"he is just a business partner and you are going to earn millions be proud and not let him get to you" she encourages me  "I know but just looking at him brings back memories and it hurts" I whimpered  "hey hey you are going to ruin that pretty face and makeup don't cry" she hugs me and rubs my back  "I can't do this" I sigh  "yes you can, don't you dare back out" she lightly scolded  "I-"   "Aphrodite Donatella Warner, you can do it you worked hard to get here remember that" she stands up and offer me her hand to help me 

"now let's go we have a lot of guest waiting for the boss to make a toast" she smiles and I smile back I took a deep breath in and then out  "I can do this" I fisted my hands and straighten myself walking to the elevator  "that's the way" Bea shouts and follows . Once we reached the floor of the party I took another deep breath in and out and walked out with confidence , Leonardo Valentino Manzo you don't mean anything to me anymore 

"oh my gosh get it girl boss you looks stunning" my assistant complimented "thank you Pete" I smiled and gave him a hug  "everyone is waiting for you to make a toast come on" Pete leads me to the front of the room and passes me a microphone  "ladies and gentleman, Aphrodite our loving boss has a toast to make" Pete announced and everyone stops their chattering  

"hi so um I actually wrote a script for this speech but ended up throwing everything away and decided to go with what my heart wants to say, first I just want to thank the team for all their hard work they had to pull weeks of an all nighter and I appreciate every one of you, second I am so happy we made it here together the first few months when I first started this firm it was small and it took us so much hard work to get here and I am proud of us. I would like to ask Mr. Leonardo if he would put a pause to this partnership and allow my team and I to get a week rest before we get back to working again" I put my hand out to let Leo walk over to me  

He sets down his glass and slowly walks over to me staring straight at me it felt like nothing else matters at this very moment everyone was gone and we were the only ones. I still love him and I never stopped which is what hurts most, he takes my hand and grabbed a mic from Pete  "Aphrodite is a brilliant woman and I would sound like a jerk to not allow it" he smiles down at me  "YES" Pete shouts from beside me  "Here is a toast to a brighter future for EMPRESS" I raised my glass and Pete pass a glass to Leo who still has his other hand holding mine   "To EMPRESS" Leo says and raises his too and we all cling our glasses in the air and I downed it  

"slow down cara" Leo whispers to my ear  "who are you to stop me" I scoffed and walked away slightly pulling my hand back  "what did he say to you" Bea walk over to me  "he told me to take it slow with the alcohol" I rolled my eyes  "like he gives a fuck" Bea rolled her eyes too  "Mr. Warner, Leonardo asked for you in the conference room he says is about the project" my assistant smiles  "alright thank you Pete" I gave him a soft smile   "do you really think is about the project" Beatrix raise one eyebrow  "I don't know, but I hope it is" I sigh and set down my glass 

"you wanted to talk" I walked in  "how have you been" he turns the chair to face me  "I am not making small talks with you Leonardo, if you aren't going to talk about the project than excuse me I got a party to tend to" I gave him a slight nod and walk to the door  "Aphrodite look I am sorry" he apologizes  "save it, you have said sorry multiple times and still hurt me regardless I am not falling into your trap anymore" I gave him a fake smile and walked out not even giving him a chance to say anything else
