Secret Love

Chapter 9

It had been about a week since Toni had gotten to New York and the rehearsals were going great. She has gotten a lot closer to Janet and she was starting to really like her. Toni doesn't have many friends so it meant a lot that someone like Janet was her friend. Right now Toni was laid in bed after putting Denim and Diezel to sleep. She was staring at the ceiling trying to fall asleep but she just couldn't. Sick of this boredom she carefully picked up Diezel and Denim and put them into the double stroller. She then put on some jogging pants and a cardigan before making her way into the hall. Going across the hall she knocked on the door. After about a minute the door was opened. "Oh hi Toni."

"Hey Janet. Were you sleeping?"

"No, I was just laying back watching some tv. What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I was finding it hard to sleep."

"Perfect, come in. I was just about to order a late night snack." Toni walked into Janet's suite while she straightened up a little. "I'll get the menu. You can lay the boys in the other bedroom and we'll meet back in here."

"Cool." She took the boys into the other room and slowly laid them down. Luckily this suite also came with a crib for Diezel. She tucked them in and gave them little kisses on their heads. Walking out, she quietly closed the door and sat in the living area with Janet. "So what are you getting?"

"I was thinking of getting the burger. I haven't eaten one in a while."

"I'll get the same. I love a good burger."

"Should we get wine or are you not allowed due to breastfeeding."

"I actually can drink now because I am switching him to formula."

"Sweet. I'll get Merlot." Janet went and ordered the food while Toni sat and waited. After about five minutes, Janet came and sat back down. "The food should be here in about a half an hour."

"Nice."

"So what's keeping you up so late?"

"Just some thinking."

"Care to share?"
"Ummm...." Toni sat and thought about if she was willing to share her personal life with Janet. Although they just met, Toni felt surprisingly close and trusting of Janet. "Well, I'm going through a divorce."

"Oh I'm so sorry."

"Yeah."

"May I ask why?"

"Basically, he's a dirty cheater." Janet let out a chuckle.

"Yeah men are jerks. What happened?"

"Well, I was rehearsing my set for this concert with my sister and I came home earlier than expected. A little while after I got home, my husband came in and I saw him making out with this girl. Later that day, a girl called me and told me she was seven months pregnant by him."

"Girl are you serious?"

"Yes girl. I was so heated that I threw all of his stuff out of the house and kicked him out."

"What did he say?"

"You know the typical; 'Baby' let me explain. Let me talk.' I was so sick of it."

"Ughhh that gets on my nerves. Like just own up to the fact that you cheated."

"Right. The worst part is that I talked to the pregnant girl again and she told me that she didn't even live in California, she lives in Houston."

"So who was the girl he was kissing?"

"Another girl, who just so happens to be pregnant as well."
