I stood there looking at her body. It looked so fragile. So still. Almost like she was dead.

But the monitor told me she was still living. The steady beat of her heart filled the room. It was the only thing that stopped me from breaking down.

My eyes never left her sleeping face.

It was wrapped up. Only half of her face could be seen. Her left hand was in a cast.

Looking away from her, I see Rex on the other side of her. He was sitting in the chair. His eyes were closed, but they looked red.

His forehead had stitches. He explained that it happened when the car flipped over. Which led to a minor concussion.

Rex's ribs were bruised as well.

A hand on my shoulder made me flinch. But when I saw it was Nash I gave him a shy smile.

I had been living with him for safety precautions.

Fredrick had came into my shop looking for Camellia. He had threatened my life and hit me.

And that was the same day Nash had made me cum. With his own hand.

"How you holding up?"

His voice was deep. It vibrated through my body.

I could listen to him talk all day.

I shrug. I honestly didn't know how I was doing.

My best friend was laying in the hospital clinging to her life.

She's been laying there for almost a week now. And still nothing. She hasn't woke up.

His hand rubs my back gently. Like he was trying to soothe my pain.

"She going to wake up right? She has too." My voice was small. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't hear me.

But he said, "she's strong and so fucking stubborn. She'll wake up before we know it."

He was right. Camellia was so fucking stubborn. It's what made her her.

I give him a small smile until I hear Thomas's voice.

Walking past Nash I see Rex look up. He walks out behind Nash and myself.

Thomas looked so lost. So broken.

And their dad was right behind him. Marcus.

Marcus looked just as lost. But even more pissed off.

What father wouldn't be pissed? His daughter was laying in a hospital bed right now.

He searched for her when me and her were in middle school together. He found her and saved her.

I had no idea what he was feeling right now.

"Where is she?!"

Marcus's strong voice made me flinch. I pointed inside the room and he practically ran inside.

I watch as he walks over to her. He just looks at her like I did a few minutes ago.

He reaches out to touch her, but pulls back like he decided against it. His head hung low and he grabbed her good hand, rubbing it sweetly.

Tears pricked my eyes at the sight.

None of this felt real right now. It felt like a really bad nightmare.
