He paid for my coffee. Just like a gentleman. But I knew he was anything but that. He was coldhearted. And I would be a fool to think otherwise.

I knew he had a car. He had a license in his wallet. I seen it when he pulled his credit card out to pay for the drinks.

But that's what confused me the most. If he had a car, then why didn't he use it? I, myself, was burning up. So I knew he had to be too.

The walk to Bounce was a bit away. I had to walk twice as fast to keep up with Rex. It was exhausting. But I didn't complain.

Bounce was one of the many clubs around here. It was made especially for college students. I've never been. But I've heard rumors about it. Rumors about Rex and The Aces getting into alot of trouble coming here.

If they got in so much trouble just by coming here, then I didn't know why they'd ever want to come back. Maybe they were masochists. Wanted to feel the pain! Or whatever.

There was a man in a black suit standing at the entrance. College students who didn't have classes today either stayed in and slept. Or they were in this waiting line to get in the club.

I knew I should never be here. Anywhere near here. It wasn't my idea of fun.

My idea of fun included a good book and wine cooler. Taking a bubble bath with scented candles.

Going to a club wasn't my idea of fun. It was my idea of getting into a lot of trouble. And I've never gotten into trouble before.

The man nodded at Rex, letting him through. Me being right behind him tried to walk through, but he grabbed my arm.

    "Sorry. You can't go through."

"Well why the hell not! You let Rex through!"

The man did nothing but stare at me. The smirk that fell onto his lips made me shiver. "There's a line, sweety. Go to the back of it."

"She's with me!" I turned my head to the voice I've become so familiar with.

The man didn't say anything. He didn't let my arm go either. In fact, he tightened his grip; making me jerk from the pain. "You should've told me that before, sir."

"What was that, Samuel?" The mans jaw clenched. "Did I hear you say something?"

    "N-no sir."

Sir? This huge man was calling Rex sir? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Because I was certain Samuel, the man still gripping my arm, was older than Rex by a few years.

"That's what I thought. Let her go. Unless you want to loose another finger." The venom laced in his voice made even me freeze in fear. And I haven't felt this type of fear in a very long time.

The hand on my arm released. I rubbed the place he held so roughly. When I began to follow Rex, Samuel leaned down; making me stop.

"I'm very sorry, ma'am. You should have better company."

Well I could agree on that with him. I would've liked better company than Rex.

Forcing a nod I hurried to catch up with Rex. He surprisingly stopped for me to succefully catch up with him.

The scowl on his face didn't go unseen. His fists clenched and unclenched at his sides. "Did he hurt you?"

"What?" I said as I looked up at him. I wouldn't be surprised if I had gotten whiplash with how fast I moved my head. His question surprised me.
