Chapter 10

* Danica *

I was walking down the street when I accidentally bumped into someone . 

" OH ! I'm sorry ! " I said shyly .

I looked up to see one of Embry's friends .

" No problem. " he smiled .

I looked down at the ground nervously and bent down , trying to pick up my books that I'd been carrying . 

" Are you alright ? " he asked me , bending down to help me .

I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear and nodded.

" Yeah, thanks . " I muttered .

" I'm Jared . " he said, extending his hand to me . 

I looked up sheepishly .

" Danica West ." 

He smiled and finished helping me stack my books . 

" That's a nice name . " he complimented . 

" Thank you . " I said , running a hand through my hair awkardly like I'd seen Kathy do . 

" Well uh ... this may seem kind of out of the blue , but would you mind letting me buy you a coffee ? " he offered .

I blinked .

" Are you asking me out ? " I asked in disbelief .

He nodded .

" Yeah , I guess I am ."

" I don't know you . " I said , shaking my head  .

" There's only one way to GET to know me . " he said with a wink.

I laughed and nodded .

" Okay then , you have yourself a date then . "

He smiled and took my books from me , carrying them for me as we walked into the coffee shop . We walked in and sat down as Jared pushed my books to the side . He ordered a coffee and I ordered on as well , folding my arms politely on my lap . 

" You're new around here , right ? " he asked .

I nodded .

" Yeah , I came with my best friend , Kathleen Swan. " I explained .

" OH ! I met her . That one's a Spitfire . " he said, shaking his head .

I nearly spit out my coffee , laughing .

" You have NO idea . " I said , smiling .

" Maybe I could show you around sometime ."  he said .

I nodded .

" That would be cool . Embry only gave me a tour of La Push . " I stated , knowing that if he knew Kathy , he would probably know Embry  . 

He ran a hand through his dark hair . 

" Embry ? " he asked .

I nodded .

" Yeah , he was just showing me around . "

His smile returned as we drank our coffee and then walked out of the shop .

" Well this was a nice ....... " I said .

" I couldn't agree more. Beautifull girl , good coffee , nice weather. Do you want to make it last a little longer and take a walk ? " he asked.

I smiled and nodded as he reached down and grabbed my hand . 

" I'd like that . "
