Adopted by Six the Musical

Chapter 1

*𝙏𝙒- 𝘼𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙚, 𝙎𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙝𝙤𝙡 𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙚*
𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐏𝐎𝐕
I hear the bell ring, and I grab my textbook from my desk and shove it in my bag. I exit the school, trying to get past the flood of teenagers hurrying out of school.

A few shoves later, I'm on the footpath walking home. I put in my earbuds, and put my musical playlist on shuffle. I try to delay coming home as long as I can, since I never know what mood my dad will be in.

Before I go home, I stop at 7/11 to pick up some Corn Nuts, and as I walk in, 'Freeze Your Brain' starts playing.
"Huh, what a coincidence", I think to myself. I pay for the Corn Nuts, and walk out of 7/11. For the rest of the walk home, I enjoy the Corn Nuts.

I finally arrive at home, and as I walk in, I can smell the alcohol.
"Great" I think. "He is definitely not sober today". I try to go upstairs as quietly as possible, but the 4th step makes a creaking sound.
"Shit" I murmur to myself.

"Oi, where'd you think you're going, huh?" My Dad slurred.
"I.. Uh... nowhere..." I stutter.
"Come here, you know what happens when you don't come straight home. I thought you'd have learnt by now" my dad slurred again.
"Wow... he must be really drunk if he's slurring so much" I think to myself.

I walk across the hall into the living room, which is littered with beer cans and crisp bags.
"I... I'm s..sorry father" I mumble.
"Not good enough", he says, standing up.

I tried turning away, but he grabbed my shoulder, spun me around, and slapped me right across the cheek. He shoved me to the ground, hitting my head off the coffee table as I fell. I tried to stand up and try leave, but he kicked me in the shin. He then gets up and leaves the room, probably to go get another beer. I limp up the stairs as quickly as I can, and lock my bedroom door behind me.
