"Dude, you good?" Tanong ni Arrow nang makita siyang hinihingal habang nakasandal sa hindi kalakihang tipak ng bato.
He nodded and roamed his eyes to check on his friends. They've been hunting the wild beasts in Mellowcorpse for almost 2 weeks now. Hindi sila makalabas dito kaya lahat sila'y walang maayos na pahinga at kain.
"I'll check the perimeter to see if I can get us some food." Saad niya sa kaibigan at mabilis na nawala sa paningin nito.
Hindi man nila sabihin, ramdam na niya ang pagkapagod ng mga kaibigan sa misyong hindi nila akalaing tatagal ng ganito. The girls are probably wondering why they're still not back knowing that they were just sent here to clean the mess.
"Pareng bro!" He winced in pain as his most annoying acquaintance shouted right on his ear.
Mukha ba siyang bingi?
"Move." Inis niyang utos kay Veton na hindi nakinig.
The latter rested its arm on his shoulder and guided him opposite to the direction he's trailing earlier.
"Madaming animal doon, dito puro pagkain." Gusto na niyang sakalin ang kaibigan dahil matapos nitong magsalita ay isang malaking nilalang ang sumalubong sa kanila.
"Gago ka." He rolled his eyes and left him there after killing the beast.
"H-hoy! Isusumbong kita kay Luna bear!"
"Wow, scary." Damien scoffed.
He looked up to see the light coming from the full moon. Ito lang ang nagsisilbing ilaw nila sa bawat gabing nagtatago sila sa Mellowcorpse.
Luna.
He smiled.
He didn't know that the moon can keep him sane.
After dispatching all the wild beasts in the Mellowcorpse, his father finally allowed them to go home. Isang buwan din halos ang tinagal nila roon kaya hindi na nakakapagtakang naghanda ang academy sa pagbalik nila.
"That's what you'd call a leader." Manghang puri sa kanya ni Enfys matapos marinig ang kanyang opinyon.
He isn't a leader, rather, he is simply himself. If being capable of standing up for justice, expressing his personal views, and extending the ladder of opportunity to others make up a leader, then he'll gladly take the title.
Nilibot niya ang tingin at pinagmasdan ang reaksyon ng mga taong nakapaligid sa kanila. This event is supposed to be a surprise welcome back pero parang mas nagulat pa ang mga estudyante sa binalita ng kanilang headmaster.
He looked at Luna who's waving her hand like a mad woman. Marahang tumaas ang sulok ng kanyang labi.
She's literally a ball of sunshine.
"She's really something." Mahinang bulong ni Enfys na may ngiti sa labi.
That woman can withstand anything. She's willing to do everything that even though her heart is burdened, she still continue to take one more brave step, then another, then another.
