Capturing Alexandra | Book 1 in The Oceanic...
All young Merfolk listen to the Elder's stories-- legends, you might call them-- about humans. They learn never to trust the vile beasts that inhabit the land, to never come in close proximity with them, and most of all, never to be seen by one.
Even as a young child, Alexandra loved the land. She was as fascinated by the humans as they were of the thought of her. She wanted to learn everything she possibly could about the species from the Elders. Much to her parent's disliking, her curiosity with the two-legged creatures only grew as she aged. Little did she know that it would eventually cost her the freedom she had always taken for granted.
Now she's trapped in a nostalgic purgatory and can't find a way out. One day, a new face breaks the cloud of finger prints covering the glass. To her surprise, she somehow knew it was the face of freedom, the face of hope of a normal life, the face of her guardian angel.
With the help of a human, will she succeed in escaping the clutches of a multi-billion dollar industry, or will she succumb to the pain and pressure of the experiments she is subjected to each and every day?
After all, if you want to escape from the eyes of the world, you need to go out with a bang.
