Seven victims on Renner Boulevard. No wounds. No blood at the scene. The department calls it a medical mystery. Warren Hasek calls it someone else's problem - until fifteen children at a Caldwell orphanage turn up with the same inexplicable condition, and no one asking questions on their behalf. What Hasek finds behind a locked door in the east corridor will not fit in any report he has ever written. Something is moving through the city at night. Something that knows your name, knows your route, and has been watching longer than you have. The Nightcrawlers is a hard-boiled detective story of the supernatural - gaslit streets, cold fog, and forces that defy rational explanation. Amazon KDP: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GX2XVC2S

A collection of sci-fi short stories updated daily. Common themes may include: aliens, space, humor, misfits and outsiders, philosophy, mysticism, poetry, food, etc. These writings are all stream of consciousness and feature little if any editing. As a reader please feel free to leave notes about what you'd like to see in possible future revision. Days where I only write poetry there will likely be multiple uploads.

The Builder's Apprentice When Winston Green awakens in a world of two moons and forgotten mysteries, he carries with him little more than memories of another life and the ache of unfinished dreams. Guided by the enigmatic Goodwin, he is drawn into the secret brotherhood of the Builders-men who shape more than stone and timber, who guard sacred knowledge against those who would twist it into chains. Through oaths sworn in candlelit halls, rituals older than kingdoms, and lessons at once practical and profound, Winston discovers that building is more than craft-it is prayer, defiance, and war against the corruption that gnaws at the world. Among stonemasons, teachers, smiths, and healers, he finds not just mentors but brothers, ordinary men holding back extraordinary darkness. But knowledge comes at a cost. To bear the tools of the Builders is to take up their burdens: secrecy, sacrifice, and the unending struggle against those who would wield geometry and craft for domination. As Winston learns to see the hidden patterns that shape creation, he must decide whether he will remain an apprentice-or become something more. A tale of brotherhood, mystery, and sacred labor, The Builder's Apprentice invites readers into a world where every true work of craft is a prayer, and every prayer a stone set against the coming dark.

The second and final short story in this little series I've construed. This little sequel plays off the many heavy themes and elements presented in the first story. Around 2K words in length( upon its completion), this wraps up my first little short story Duology. This story follows the personal view of two coastal survivors, young Charla & Denny, in the wake of a nuclear apocalypse. The story intends to depict a glimpse of communities of sea-faring people and the environment they are fighting to survive in. Between perils of sea and perils of land, will the coastal peoples obtain life or death?
