Kellin is in his senior year of high school, ready to graduate and get out into the world. Unfortunately for him, life has different plans. His family has picked up and moved from Grand Rapids to San Diego in the middle of the first semester of senior year. His once perfect family is transforming into something he could have never imagined. Not to mention he's caught the attention of Vic Fuentes, one of the most feared guys at Mission Bay. To the rest of the population in Kellin's town, he's just another high school kid, gay or not, but to the people he cares about he's an abomination. Neglected and ignored, Kellin fights his way through life and when Vic's words start getting to him, he turns to destructive methods to save himself. The only problem is that Vic begins to change, pretending to be nice to Kellin because . . . reasons? His motives are a mystery to Kellin and at every corner Vic or one of his friends are there. He can't avoid them. And when avoiding everyone becomes Kellin's number one goal in life, how does he come close to achieving it?
