Cornelia Cotton is not 'helpful' 'patient' and anyone hearing the word kind in connection to her is liable to drop dead from the pure absurdity. Stuck in Briar Springs avoiding the Witches Tribunal seems to be the perfect solution to avoid helping. But there is a darkness consuming the land, in the most literal sense and someone has to spot it.

Cornelia asked after she built up the courage to ask. Sam couldn't be anywhere near could he? Julian didn't answer but he leaned up against a wall. "What happened to your clothes?" Cornelia asked but Julian didn't move an inch. "I," Julian started to say but something fell out of his white shirt. "Shit." He said and took up the thing, it was a bloody knife. "I never should've come here." Cornelia said thinking he had killed someone with that knife. Up until she saw his white shirt turn red. "Shit, shit, shit." Julian said as he lift up his shirt. He was bleeding from the stomach.
