Hi. Just a heads up. 1. this is not the original date story I've planned. I wanted to write my first date with my ex but... idk as I was writing it it got a little too personal if that makes sense. So I rewrote it and just kept a few details in. I still like it though. xD 2. it got long so there will be a third part. aka I'm still editing the second part but I want you to have something until I'm finished. Enjoy.

„Janis could you please stop texting your girlfriend for once and listen to me?" Damian said, frustrated by Janis' lack of attention since she first got in contact with Cady.

„She's NOT my girlfriend. We didn't even go on a date yet." Janis said, still smiling onto her phone.

Damian rolled his eyes. „Whatever you know you like her."

„So? It was your plan after all."

„And you still didn't thank me" Damian smirked a little. Knowing that this was one of the better ideas he had up until now.

„I'll thank you if the date goes well." Janis said throwing a pillow at him to wash it right off his face again.

It's true. Janis really liked her. Well... as far as you can like someone you met on a dating app and have been texting with everyday for a week now. From what she could tell Cady was kind, funny, a little sarcastic, with a good taste of music, but also had no fucking idea when it comes to art.

Janis caught her in a lie when they were talking about the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel. Cady was convinced that Vincent Van Gogh painted The Last Judgement over the altar. She eventually confessed that she didn't understand anything of what Janis was always talking about.

Janis wasn't mad though. It was quite funny actually.

Friday came around pretty quickly. They decided to meet up at a café and then just see how it goes and where it takes them.

Janis arrived first so she took the opportunity to sit down at a table apart from the other costumers for a little privacy. She waited, anxiously fiddling with her rings until she spotted Cady walking into her direction.

...Woah.

Janis already knew that Cady's gorgeous but in person she looked like nothing less than a goddess. Her red hair had a slight golden glow and it fell in waves perfectly over her shoulders. Wine red heels were adding a little bit more to her small height, defining her beautiful muscular legs. She was wearing a black skirt which went to the mid of her thighs and a beige top.

God I'm gay.. And maybe a little underdressed. Janis went against her better judgement and wore her typical denim shorts with her fishnet tights, a black top which was a little tighter fitting than usual and a black flannel. Janis just likes black a lot.

As Cady reached their table Janis stood up and greeted her with a "Hey you." That's how she always greeted her when they're texting so why not just go with it.

"Hey." Cady smiled softly, chuckling a little over Janis standard greeting.

They went in for a quick hug and took her seats.

After a second Janis started talking "I hope it's okay that we're sitting outside.. I just didn't know how good you handle crowded places and up until a few minutes ago it was full of people and I didn't want you to feel-"

"Janis... it's fine. This is perfect don't worry." She interrupted, a little flattered that Janis already tried her best to make her feel comfortable before she even got here.

"Okay, sorry."

There was a long moment of silence as neither of them knew what to say until the waiter came to get their order. Cady ordered a Chai tea Latte and Janis went with a Latte Macchiato with an extra shot of espresso.

"Extra shot huh?" Cady grinned, already knowing that Janis was a sucker for every kind of coffee and it couldn't be strong enough for her.

"They put way to much milk in their latte Macchiatos." She said jokingly rolling her eyes.

They both chuckled. God that chuckle. Janis never thought that a human would be able to do such a beautiful sound. How can you be so attracted to a human being after only five minutes?

"So tell me about your animals." Janis said, leaning back a little.

Cady smirked. "Oh so your only interest is my life in Kenya huh?"

"Hey that was the deal. You tell me about Kenya, I show you my art."

They both laughed again and their eyes met. Janis now realised how blue Cadys eyes really were. Like the Caribbean sea getting hit by the sunlight.

Their little moment got interrupted by the waiter handing out their coffees.

Janis cleared her throat. "So. Let's talk about your lions." Taking a sip of her coffee

A smile instantly spread on Cadys face as she started talking about the lion pack back in Kenya, every story told in so much detail that Janis could picture them infront of her eyes. It soon escalated into stories about the different kinds of wildlife in Africa and the culture they were a part of. Cady talked a lot. But Janis didn't care. The stories were far more interesting than everything Janis did in her life combined and Cady was just too cute when she's excited. At some point as she was talking about how a snake actually ate a cow, she abruptly stopped and said

"I'm talking too much again, aren't I?"

Janis eyes widened. Shocked by the sudden mood change. "God no. You were just getting into my favourite story up until now."

"You don't have to say that.. I totally get it.. I get a little too excited sometimes." Cady murmured looking down onto her lap. Many people were annoyed by her stories after the first two minutes, and always told her to shut up. She could tell that Janis was different but she was still a little scared.

Janis smiled softly at Cady while bumping her foot against hers under the table. "As you should. It's cute. I really enjoy listening to your stories Caddie."

Cady smiled shyly. "Thanks. But it's Cady."

"Yeah I'm gonna call you Caddie." Janis said with a wink.

Cady blushed a little. No one ever gave her a nick name apart from her parents. She sat up a little more straight, trying to contain her excitement as she said "So.. now that you know everything about me and my animals, your turn."

"Yeah..." Janis hesitated looking at her burgundy sketchbook she brought with her, nervously biting her lip.

"Are you okay?" Cady asked taking Janis hand into her own giving it a little squeeze.

Janis heart skipped a beat at the sudden contact and she smiled.

"Uh... yeah I just didn't really show anyone my art before. Except for Damian." Janis murmured fiddling with her rings again.

Cady lightly squeezed Janis hand again. "I bet it's amazing. But if you're too uncomfortable sharing it that's-"

"No no. It's fine... just a little weird." Janis smiled a little, but also already missed the subtle contact as Cady let go of Janis hand and took her stool to place it beside Janis' ready to see the artworks which were hiding in the sketch book.

Their shoulders were almost touching and Cadys heartbeat increased a tiny bit as she smelled the scent of peppermint tea and lemon.

As Janis revealed the first page Cady gasped. It was nothing less than a master piece. It was a profile of a crying woman, painted in different shades of black and grey water colours. It was sad yet calming. Every paintstroke looked like it has been planned for weeks. The further they worked their way through the sketchbook, the drawings, sketches and paintings got more colourful, abstract but also more realistic at times. It's like the sketchbook is telling a story. A story of healing and finding themselves. Fining joy in the little things in life. Cady has never seen something so beautiful. She has seen art in museums and schoolbooks but no painting could ever compare to that. No painting ever represented something so personal, and Cady was gald that she got to witness this.

As they closed the book she looked down onto her lap, not saying anything, trying to take it all in.

"Is it that bad?" Janis smiled sheepishly, kind of confused what Cadys reaction really meant.

Cadys head shot up, instantly looking into Janis eyes saying "wHAT NO! Janis it's beautiful it's just- it's just a lot."

"Yeah... Sorry. It's just my favourite." Janis scratched the back of her head knowing that it could be a little bit overwhelming seeing so much stuff at once.

"It's beautiful. Really." Cady smiled again. Still trying to fully process it.

"You really think that?" Janis asked, still a little insecure about all of this.

"Yes. One hundred percent. Thank you for sharing that with me."

"Thanks Caddie." Janis gave her a genuine smile this time. Happy that someone who isn't her best friend, appreciates what she's doing.

Cady just smiled warmly at Janis and there was a moment of silence. It wasn't uncomfortable or anything they just enjoyed each other's company.

A few minutes passed and the sun slowly started to set as Janis spoke up again.

"Do you wanna go to the beach?"

"What?" Cady asked, kind of confused by the sudden idea.

Janis looked at her phone checking the time, looking up into the distance again. "If we go now we'll make it to the golden hour. Only if you want to of course... if you wanna go home-"

"I would love to." Cady knew what she meant by golden hour, and she didn't need to be asked twice.

Janis just grinned and said "let's go then."

Part 3 coming tomorrow. I hope you liked it. As always have a nice day and until next time, bye <3
